The Matriarch

B I O G R A P H Y

A sneak attack on her old clan by a group of nearby Maren forced the Fae flee from her old lair, seeking a new place to call her own. Being so young at the time, with such little magic reserve, left her unable to help her clanmates defend their home. One of the clan's Guardian dragons--a female by the name of Fistularia--was charged with taking the clan's hatchlings someplace safer for the time being, until word could be sent that they could return to their lair.

Unbeknownst to the Guardian, she had been scratched by one of the Marens' poison blades and perished before she could see her charges to safety.

Chaos reigned as the mighty female Guardian fell, and, in the confusion, Myrra was separated from her fellow hatchlings, but could not waste the time searching for them, as it would be no use in getting herself mixed up into the battle as it would only further put another in danger if they were to see a hatchling in danger.

And so, she fled the battle--and her home.

Days passed, and finally, she found a place safe enough to rest, a place that showed no signs of belonging to another clan. Having had little rest and little food to sustain her, Myrra, no longer a hatchling, succumbed to her exhaustion as soon as she found what would become her new home.

It was not long until she was found: a male Guardian by the name of Aegarys, searching for his charge, stumbled upon the Fae--and it was she, whom he had been meant to protect.

So, he began his duties, nursing Myrra back to strength and health, until she could go out and gather food on her own.

Curious as to what happened to her original clan, she and Aegarys made the journey back to her old home, only to discover that there were no survivors of those who had stayed. Of those who had been hatchlings, there were no signs.

Grief stricken, she fled; Aegarys following after.

When he found her, she was curled in her roost, and, for the first time in his memory, the Guardian saw what appeared to be a shaken, distressed Fae. Knowing that he must protect his charge under any circumstances, he offered her what comfort he could.

At his words, Myrra swore from that day on, no Beastclan--Maren, or otherwise--would attack her or hers; if she had to fight to the death to protect her new clan, so that none other would die by the hands of the Maren, she would.
