Starunner

Starunner has held a lifelong recurring dream of running along a beach of golden sands, that sing along in time and beneath his feet. Close to his feet, the silent Black Sea beside him would hold stars that were no longer visible in the sky. They'd be seen from the top, like a reflection, without a body in the sky to make them.

He had no ideas what this dream means, as different things can happen. A monster of red eyes can see him. He'd see dragons made of gold, or an apple of silver. But in all its reincarnations, the sky was as black as the sea, and the sea would carry the stars, and the golden sand would always sing, no matter what horrors dwelled in the jungle nearby.
