Adreana was always different from most dragons she knew. They all thought about their future mates and potential families. However, she never expressed the same level of interest. She didn't care if she ended up without a mate and she never wanted to start a family. Growing up, she was told constantly "it's just a phase", "you'll change your mind when you're older" or "you just need to find the right dragon". It was infuriating, especially when the other dragon made no effort to listen to her side of things. Though, the most infuriating thing had to be when other dragons reacted with pity, acting as though it was a sad thing.

The older she got, the more her birth clan pressured her to find a mate and have hatchlings. Eventually, it reached a point where she just couldn't tolerate it anymore. With only a farewell to her closest friends, she left in the middle of the night, slinking away into the darkness. Even as she left, she felt a twinge of sadness for having to leave her friends and the only home she had known. Yet, she still went on, knowing she would be far happier in a clan more accepting of her personal preferences.

Making her way south, as she had no interest in going north to Dragonhome or the Viridian Labyrinth, Adreana stopped by the Scarred Wasteland. Meeting a clan filled with dragons studying diseases, she decided to stay for a bit and learn, as diseases and cures to them had always been a fascination of hers. Learning many interesting things, she adored being with the Plague clan and felt as though she had found a new clan. Yet paradise did not last forever.

One day, while studying a new disease spawned by the Plaguebringer, the leader of the clan fell ill. Gravely concerned for their leader's well being, the clan worked tirelessly to find a cure. However, it was to no avail. In the end, the leader died and the disease began to spread within the clan. As one of the few dragons to remain healthy, she had to make a choice, either stay with the clan and try to fight the disease or thank her luck and flee. Not particularly keen on testing her luck further, she fled further south, burning her protective clothing to prevent the spread of the disease.

Going to the South Icefield to have a rather significant distance away from her previous clan, she came across an odd place nearby a large mountain. The place itself wasn't particularly weird but it was rather the off putting energy of the area that was odd. Sniffing around, she picked up the scent of many dragons but there seemed to be no sign of any in the vicinity. Determined to find the source of the odd feeling, she walked closer to the mountain, where the feeling that she should not be there only increased. Further annoyed, she pressed on until suddenly mist surrounded her out of nowhere. Struggling through the haze, she manged to escape it. Once she did, all she could do was stare in stunned silence at the sight before her.

Where there had once been only a barren field of snow, there now was very clearly a dragon lair and a dragon approaching her. The elegant female skydancer smiled and introduced herself as Terhenetar. Answering the questions Terhenetar posed, she shared the story of her birth clan and the Plague clan she had run across. Frowning, Terhenetar explained that she could introduce Adreana to Lord Iceflame and that perhaps she could join the clan. Not really having anywhere else to go, she accepted Terhenetar's offer and the two went off to find Lord Iceflame.
