High Alpha ⦁ Overguard

At the top of the mountain overlooking the Outpost and its inhabitants, the Overguard is a series of buildings designed almost as a city of its own. A multitude of buildings and arenas surrounded by a dense ring of heavy, freezing, blinding fog forms a powerful fortress to house and train the protectors of the Icedrift. Healers, mages, coliseum fighters, and city sentinels alike call the Overguard home, with each district overseen by its own Delta. Deltas are responsible for delivering important information to the High Alpha who in turn relays said information to the High Commander. Not much of the Guard can be seen from the rest of the city, save for the warm light in the mountains and the gigantic heads of the Sentinels watching through the fog.

Shea holds the highest position of power within the Overguard outside of the High Commander of the Icedrift herself. She spends most of her time surveying the Overguard in the mountain, only really coming down when her presence is required by dire circumstance as she is often busy with training matters; she personally oversees the training of most new Guard members to ensure their success. Instead, the majority of the information she receives regarding Outpost and Highrise affairs is usually relayed by her Deltas, dragons who have earned her trust throughout the time of her command, who in turn also head their own sections of the Guard.

Shea took charge of the Overguard as Vox's graduated apprentice and is now the longest ruling Alpha the Guard has seen with no plans of retirement; she herself has no designated apprentice despite the large number of dragons she mentors, though if one supposedly asked her she wouldn't be disappointed at the query. Though there has been past interest in the position, no one has yet survived the trial in order to claim name to it, leaving Shea to do only her best to prepare those hopeful souls seeking to one day rule the Overguard themselves.
