Thessalia came from an abandoned egg, one lodged in a happily warm crevice deep in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Fortunately for her, she was the color of deep water and her speed outweighed her size, and she took to the magics of the sea with an uncanny ease. She's never been much good with prophecies, though, preferring to look at what's in front of her. Still, she hears the whispers of the Sea every now and then, and when she listens to them -- infrequently -- she's rarely wrong. She spent her early days being fast and scrappy to survive, and her later days being fast and tenacious to amass the treasure and resources she needed to achieve her goals: power, and a clan of her own. One of her whispers put her in Atarakios' path, and he's remained by her side ever since, a valuable support and partner. Thessalia is the more dangerous of the two, but he more intimidating physically, and together they present a united public front. Their children have long since left the clan, to explore and to find their way in the world. The family that stays together is the family that's chosen each other, which Thessalia has always thought more sensible. She never knew her own, after all, but rather made some for her own. When the clan was more settled, more secure, Thessalia began more regularly branching out, traveling to meet other clans and learn from the way those in other flights did things. It was on one of these journeys that she met Aeolus. He was wind, but orphan like herself and Atarakios, and had no real ties to the clan he lived with at the time. Thessalia didn't even need to listen to the whispers to invite him home. He thought differently, but he loved just as well, and eventually a pair became a trio, overlooking the clan with a careful balance. Even now, Thessalia will put the clan's good, the family's good, before all else; fortunately, her partners are part of that clan, and understand that aspect of her. It isn't always easy, but it's worth it.
