About

Reya is, at heart, a fighter. Though she is a shadow dragon by technicality, she has always felt just as at home when she is surrounded by the heat of fire and the smell of sulfur. Much more war torn than under the reign of the Shadowbinder, she finds the constant adrenaline of battle to be where she really thrives. Sharpening a weapon, honing her body to it's absolute peak, and the feel of tired muscles in the mornings are what keep her going.

Much like one would think, she's also a bit of a firebrand. Loud about her opinions, she always does what she thinks is right, even if dragons get hurt in the process. The greater good is probably one of the biggest defining attributes of her moral compass. She would just as easily tear a dragon down for their wrongdoings as she would jump in front of an innocent to shield them from fire.

As such she is the commanding officer of her current clan. Though she has found herself once more in Shadow territory, her loyalty has never wavered. As much as she longs for the heat of fire and the sounds of battle, she cares too much for her family and clan to leave them for such selfish whimsies.

Origins

Reya was born to, for lack of a better word, evil parents. Living under the Shadowbinder's rule gave them a lot of leeway to act as they pleased. Of course as a hatchling, Reya obeyed her parents but the way the acted always made her scales itch. She knew right from wrong, no matter how they attempted to teach her otherwise.

So she kept her head down until she was old enough to fend for herself. Her parents were happy to let her go and there were no fond farewells or fighting to 'keep the family together'. She was simply there one day and gone another.

She traveled through many different territories before she settled in the land that was always burning. It was there that she met her oldest friend, Lilium. Lilium was intelligent and level headed, which tempered Reya's quick to jump and bull headed personality. The two got along well and eventually joined a clan together, where Reya met her mate Solomon.

The two didn't bond right away at all. Solomon was quiet and reserved and Reya had to drag him clawing and roaring out of his shell. Eventually the two were inseparable. Then the war between them and a rival clan through their lives into turmoil. The two of them remember it well as the elders of the clan. Reya quickly rose in rank until she was front line in almost every battle. Fighting for her home and for her mate, she tore through the battlefield like a wildfire.

She doesn't talk much about the war. There are too many bad memories there and she hates herself for missing it as she does, especially with the grief it brought to those around her. Eventually she raised a nest in an attempt to keep her mind elsewhere.

It was quickly found out that Reya was not built with the same maternal instincts as her friend Lilium. She loved her children of course with all her heart, but Solomon always seemed to know what to do and how to care for them better than she did. The only child she was close with was her daughter, Peche. Most of her children have gone on to serve the deities the revere but she still keeps in contact with her youngest child who lives with a nature clan that borders their territory.
