★ ABOUT   While members of the Sparkling Lair are free to mate with anyone they choose, it is occasionally the case that two particular dragons form an exclusive bond with each other. This bond, known as a Union, is given a special ceremony in which the patrons of the Lair officially recognise the two dragons as bonded together. The partners in this Union are then bound to breed only with each other, although they may still show the same amount of affection to other Lair members as before. Deep within the Sparkling Lair, a different sort of music reaches your ears. A quick dance beat thumps in your chest, timed to the lights that flash out of the darkness. Every so often you catch a glimpse of a wing or a tail, but the dragons are moving too quickly for you to really see them. You have reached the alcove of Asche and Faye, two dragons bonded by their love for techno. Many of the lair's dragons are musically inclined, but these two enjoy a particular kind of music, the kind that raises your heartbeat and infects you with the desire to dance. Faye is attracted to slightly slower songs often with a romantic element: you can tell she's found a favourite when the scales on her belly begin to sparkle. |
