Fallon

Fallon was born with a gift. Something odd, strange, something never before seen. He hatched from his egg normal, nothing odd except perhaps his colouring and sparkling, ready-made Pearl.

Then, it happened.

He began to float.

He drifted up, off of the ground, still clutching his pearl tightly to him. He didn't look particularly distressed, but rather calm, as if this was something he found quite mundane.

Occasionally, he would flit down to the ground, as if struck with a sudden burst of gravity that yanked him downwards.

Otherwise, he stayed in the air. He could sit in any which way and move as he wished, turning and twisting through the sky or inches above the ground almost joyously.

Many dragons were skeptical of Fallon, deeming him dangerous, cursed.

He was sent to a trading hub mere days after his birth and shipped away to another clan to live.

Fallon didn't know what was happening, he just knew he was moving away. He was too young to really bother, but that didn't mean he wasn't tearful as his parents disappeared from view.

He finally landed in his new clan a day or so later, floating inches above the ground with his pearl clutched tightly in his small paws. He moved the sphere around almost timidly, a distraction to calm his racing thoughts as he took in the clan.

There were no other hatchling sthat he could see, nothing familiar either.

He was old enough to know basic manners and introduced himself to some of the dragons around him. They were more than happy to speak with the young Pearlcatcher and gave him a tour of the clan which ended outside of a cheerful Wildclaws lair.

Fallon learned that this was where he would stay, with the Wildclaw, until he decided he wished to leave or live elsewhere.

He was happy with this new development and began to speak with the other male, learning what he could about this new clan.

There was much to learn of their ways, how they were structured and the basics of the trading hub held daily in the middle of the territory.

Fallon was happy to listen, to learn from the smiling male, who he now knew to be called Chivalry, and find out what he needed to know.

The male had a very effective method of teaching. He spoke softly, slowly but not slow enough to be insulting. It was obvious that he spent a long time with hatchlings.

Fallon began to help the clan, floating through to carry out errands for its members and speak with each of them to learn more about their individual lives.

He never thought about his birthclan, not really caring about his origins. If it ever came to it, he would carry out some research and visit his parents.

In his opinion, they can't have just sent him away. They must have cared for him considerably, despite the fact that they'd sent him away at such a young age.
