This earth had not always been so fruitful. When Harvest first traveled to the land that met both the Sea and the Tangled Woods, the soil was acrid--creeping shadow strangling vegetation on one side, and the unforgiving salt of the sea on the other, weathering the once rich earth down to its bones. But he had been sent here, to this meeting of lands, and asked to heal their warring borders and make them whole once more.

The Sea was easy enough to reason with. Great slabs from dthe ancient ruins were brought down to the cliff sides where the waves incessantly beat, driven into the soft sand that divided their worlds. It was both an offering and a necessity, the old ruin rock serving to break the waves and spare the land beyond, and also to appease the Tidelord's reaching grasp. He was contented by these offerings of histories, and the Sea was calmed.

The Tangled Woods knew no such compromise. Long had the delicate balance between the worlds of Light and Shadow been teetering dangerously to and fro, the Shadowbinder restless in her domain of eternal night. She had coiled her grasp into the Sunbeam Ruins before,
consuming much of their land, much of their precious held histories lost. The Lightweaver sought no war--but she would not allow the shadow to creep further. Harvest tried in vain to do just this,to push back the creeping night. Exhausted, and at his wit's end, he feared defeat--but as luck would have it, help came from the most unlikely of places. A wandering merchant just so happened to pass between their lands, born of the shadow herself and familiar with the spread of the shade. Maybe it was pity that told her to aid Harv in his plight, or maybe it was something deeper than that. Whatever it was that swayed her, she dropped everything in that moment, taking up this new task as if the burden was her own. With her aid, they warded the land, Light runestones banishing the dark and letting the earth heal once more.
