Biography

Pronouns: He/him
Mate: Akeldama (non-monogamous)
Kin: Lamass (son)

Role: self-appointed auxiliary Guardian of the Garden

Halt! Who goes there!?
While Holland may be recognized as the proper senior guardian of the secret garden, everyone could use a bit of help, and Vitula's one hell of a door guard.

Born and raised in the shadow of the abandoned Pox Consulate, Vitula (who it was observed by his bemused elders as having a somewhat obsessive personality) took the tale of the broken armistice between the plague and nature flights extremely personally. Indignant at the thought of the mighty nature flight being tricked and threatened in such a way, Vitula swore revenge. Being naturally bold (or, as some said in private whispers, dense and stubborn) Vitula took it upon himself to personally make his way to the Seedscar and finish what ambassador Liefa began, setting free the First Seed and seeing to it that the Scarred Wasteland was eradicated for good.

What Vitula had not taken into consideration was... how... he was going to do that.......?

It could be graciously said that he's is not the brightest example of his breed.

Vitula arrived in the scarred wasteland a young adult, having left his home amidst scattered applause and slightly more pronounced sighs of relief. Marching right up to the base of the Seedscar Vitula loudly declared his intentions... only to be swiftly swatted away by a plague magi who had more pressing matters to attend to. Still he persisted, buzzing around the base of the tree like a horsefly, getting on everyone's nerves and getting rebuffed more and more viciously each time. Likely the only thing that saved his life is how pathetic they found him and how distracted they were by the work of containing the runaway bloom.
And so it went until such a day that a particularly irritated magi imperial plucked Vitula from the ground and deposited him in the middle of the Abiding Boneyard, to die amidst the unforgiving landscape, one would imagine.
Alone, tired, thirsty, and likely by now growing ill, Vitula staggered amongst the humid wastes in search of shelter. It was several days and just as many near death experiences before a weak Vitula tasted something wholly unexpected on the air. Now he may not know much, but one thing he absolutely knows is plants, and swirling gently upon the breeze was a distinct taste of green. using his last vestiges of energy he followed that faint scent all the way to the gaping maw of a gigantic skull, and collapsed into the waiting arms of a disturbingly cheerful mirror dragon he would come to know as Slicksilver.

It took time for Vitula to stop raging and blustering against the plague dragons he found to be his rescuers. Time, patience (from Slicksilver), and some very thinly veiled threats (from his mate Dolo). What helped most though was the discovery of the secret garden. Tucked away, so deep underground, was exactly what Vitula had sought. Here was proof of the spreading magic of the first seed, and he vowed on his life to protect it WITH his life.

Many years later Vitula still stands guard, still full of bluster and bravado, still dumb as a box of rocks. But things change over decades, and Vitula has perhaps, against all the odds, become a bit wiser. He will never consider himself a plague dragon, but he does count many of them as friends and even family. The denizens of the Sanctuary in turn regard Vitula with a sort of annoyed fondness, wont as he is to question their intentions with the garden if they so much as pass a wingtip inside its bounds. He is annoying, true, but he is theirs.

At the end of the day the Sanctuary and its garden is Vitula's home, inseparable, and he will stand vigilant until the day he dies.
