The first impression of this world that the fallen star had was that the ……. creature? It thought it was a creature, then it looked around and discovered it was in an egg. The star had fallen, and the Arcanist caught it with his magic and swiftly transmuted its energy into a dragon’s soul. The Arcanist then slipped the newly born soul into an egg inhabited by a still-born embryo. The star couldn’t believe its luck. Its last memory before waking in the egg was of falling, the pain of its energy being torn away from it as it helplessly descended towards the land of the planet of Sornieth. As the Arcanist inserted the new soul into the egg, the Arcanist’s rune began to glow on the egg’s shell. The parents of the egg looked upon their egg with awe.

At the star’s hatching, the Arcanist came to watch and observe, primarily to make sure he’d cast the spell right. If there were any problems, he wanted to be right there as the parents of this clutch were some of his best researchers. Everything went without a hitch, and the Arcanist imparted his blessing upon the hatchlings, giving the star a long look as he did her blessing. He spoke to her parents briefly and departed without any fanfare while the excited clan members were cooing over the hatchlings.

The star was given the name Arca, and she found that she liked ‘being’. She liked having a flesh and bone body instead of a body made up of atoms and energy. This body allowed her to experience so many new things: the rain upon her flesh, the loving touch of family and friends, breathing, swimming, oh and the eating!! The food and tastes were amazing!! The air of this planet felt amazing as it whooshed along her wings - exquisite.

She was mostly a normal hatchling. She played with her siblings and clan members, but she also found that her magic was much more powerful than a normal Starwood Strand resident. She discovered this one day as a child, when she was following her mother around the clan’s common grounds. She stopped to look at a food stall, and by the time she looked back up, her mother had disappeared. She immediately started crying and wished with all her might for her mother to appear.

She was told later by those watching (since she had her eyes closed) that she had started to glow. A glimmer appeared all along her belly, and with a flash of pearly light, her mother appeared, very startled by the impromptu teleportation. She was highly encouraged to study in the Arcanist’s Observatory and to dedicate her life to the study of magic, but she already had a plan for her future in mind. She resisted all those trying to convince her and learned only the basics she needed to control her gifts.

The former star now named Arca was aiming to grow up and become a Sornieth-wide celebrity chef. She wanted to create all new flavours and food combinations, to have dragons flocking to her for her creations. She has been travelling from territory to territory and learning from dragons throughout them. She is now ready to settle down and start her new and up-coming restaurant. She keeps the Arcanist in her mind, and in her own way she is spreading the love of magic and his message. She is doing it her own unique way, through delicious food made with love and a little touch of magic!!
