Biography
One of the oldest clan members but seemingly eternally youthful in heart and body, Cativolcus is the charming and smart-mouthed transcriptionist of the clan, known to able to write as quickly as a Spiral can speak. He takes his job very seriously, entrusting only Ceridwen with his scrolls once they're finished, and often spends tireless nights in the archives to ensure everything is organized exactly as he wishes it. Many in the clan are surprised that he has lived as long as he has given the food and sleep he so often goes without, and younger dragons have started paying into Alaunus' betting pool on "when the old worm will finally bite it". Sirona is less than amused.
As one of the founding members of the clan, he bears a right to claim rulership of it if he so wishes, but he has no interest in taking up teeth and claws against younger, stronger dragons--nor in ruling at all.
In their younger years, he and Sirona were briefly mated and parented a few healthy clutches of eggs. Where most of these children have gone to now, Cativolcus doesn't know, and sometimes he regrets it a little--off to serve the Windsinger, he supposes. He and Sirona are still on friendly terms, and his relationship with his remaining son, Borrum, is chummy if not overly attached. Borrum takes after his mother more, Cativolcus will claim, and indeed he seems to take more after Sirona's interests in alchemy than in Cativolcus' passion for preserving the clan's written tradition.
