Born in a terribly messed up family in the Starfall Isles, Sobriquet has to deal with a mentally sick mother and a ruthless father as a child. She had 4 siblings - two died while they hatched out of their eggs while her living brother and sister left the clan frequently, simply to escape to their friends' lairs, away from their problematic parents. The event of two of her children dying had left Sobriquet's mother insane, and she was tortured by her father every day to make sure she keeps quiet.

The young Nocturne was sad that her mother cannot see things like a normal dragon. She understood that her mother had a heart of gold, and would more than gladly take care of her and her siblings if she was healthy. But she was sick, and Sobriquet was determined to heal her. She secretly worked hard to study mental health of dragons, working towards becoming a mental therapist, all the while avoiding her father who wanted nothing more but to make sure their family suffers.

However, before Sobriquet could do anything, her mother had one day managed to break free from her restraints and killed an innocent lairmate in her crazy vision. Despite Sobriquet's pleas, the clan leader chained and locked her mother away deep in the dungeons, denying access to anyone in the lair at all. To make things worse, her father kidnapped her that very night, dragging her out into a remote location to abuse her in ways she could never imagine. Her mother had never been able to please him, and he was about to use his daughter as a way to fulfill his most twisted desires. He would have succeeded, if it wasn't for a certain purple Spiral that had came to her rescue.

The other dragon managed to freeze and keep her father in place, long enough for both of them to escape. When Sobriquet inquired her savior's name, the elegant Spiral simply smiled and said that it was a secret, and she left swiftly after being thanked by the Nocturne. Even though she was not sure she'd ever see her again, Sobriquet was eternally grateful to the Spiral and promised herself that she'll be able to repay her one day.

She searched for a new life herself out there, traveling out of the Arcane region and seeking experienced therapists to teach her the art of healing. Eventually, she emerged as a fully-grown dragon and a skilled therapist herself, seeking to cure the rest of the world of their mental illnesses or problems. Often, during her sleep or when she zones out, the image of the Spiral that saved her appeared in her dreams or visions, and somehow couldn't get a warm feeling out of her heart whenever she thought of the beautiful dragon.

And finally, one day, while searching for a new home, Sobriquet finally repaid her life debt. She saw the Spiral being chained and dragged towards a dark alley, and the dragons that were holding her were demanding something from her which she did not know of. The Nocturne managed to distract the dragons with her magic and grab the Spiral before carrying her to safety, but not before the dragons managed to bash the Spiral on her head and making her unconcious. Sobriquet found shelter in an abandoned lair in the Sunbeam Ruins before helping both of them to restore their energy.

Geneva, the Red-Winged Owlcat, was given to Sobriquet as her official familiar after she successfully fulfills her first task as a messenger. She was pretty wary and distant of the Nocturne at first, but her playful antics had eventually managed to let the little creature warm up to her owner. Geneva helps Sobriquet on her missions by carrying certain packages or items whenever there is a major delivery or mass information transfer, and she is able to keep up to the Nocturne's speed after Runestone taught her how to bind part of her magic to her familiar to share her speed. Geneva also enjoys playing with her owner and when she's tired after their missions she would sleep on Sobriquet's back. Her owner is also especially protective of her and makes sure that none of her actions would injure the owlcat.

Geneva is in generally rather relaxed and not hostile with anyone unless she can sense they have bad intentions, and would always follow whatever her owner commands her to. She has not much interest in pursuing romance with other familiars of the clan.
