Though he was born in the Plague territory, Narya displayed an impressive affinity with fire since he was born. Unfortunately, this didn't mean that he had a good control over his ability with fire, hence resulting in frequent firey mishaps in the clan. As he grew up, his control over fire got better and the mishaps reduced in number.

In a way, his talent with fire might have influenced his temper- Narya is known as one of the most short-tempered dragons in the clan. His temper has more often than not been one of the main contributing factors to the argument. But as easily as it flares up, he's quick to forgive and forget. Of all the dragons, Ereinion is the one who has to deal with his temper most frequently. Luckily, the older Dawnguard is more patient than his grandson and usually ignores the younger when he flares up.

Unlike his predecessors, Narya had no talent in singing. His voice was so hoarse that other dragons cringed whenever he tried to sing. Once, he even tried eating Madame Snapdragons in an attempt to obtain a beautiful singing voice. Unfortunately, he spent the rest of that day and the next day behind the bushes.

Instead, his musical ability with different instruments was so astounding that many clans requested for him to stop by their lands to provide musical entertainment whenever he travelled. Of the different instruments, Narya is most proficient in the flute.
