Biography

Since he was a child, Daran was fascinated by moss. And weeds, and vines, and anything that tended to grow where it wasn't supposed to. He could wander off into the Spiresong Cave system for hours, taking note of all that grew in the dark and the damp. Several times Moonstone, the clan caregiver, had to fish him out of the depths of the caves, expertly tracking the young snapper before tucking him under his wing and carrying a protesting Daran back to the main halls.

After a final ultimatum from his father, Daran was apprenticed to Nayru, the resident gardener. Under her watchful eye, Daran's love for growing things extended beyond moss and weeds into every conceivable local flora. The two snappers soon had a wonderful garden featuring plants of the Starfall Isles, with the occasional exotic flower or fruit.
