Biography
Wynelle, moreso than any of his siblings, was the spitting image of his mother. This pulled him in opposing directions; the elder members of his clan fawned over the nestling that was so like the elegant Glade-blessed woman they knew, his older siblings projected onto him the rage of their father being "replaced" by their mother's new mate, and his clutchmates resented him for absorbing the majority of the attention - both good and bad.
Exhausted from constantly switching between roles and expectations like the changing of the winds, Wynelle chose to satisfy none of them. It was little rebellions, at first - taking the Gladekeeper's name in vain, relocating small objects around the lair, playing hooky. Nothing you'd get more than a sideways glance or rolled eyes at.
Then an elder actually confronted him. The face they pulled when Wynelle blew a raspberry was golden.
He had to see it again.
He'd enter the common room just to spit on the floor, dip his father's mane brush in the mud while "unaware" of the prying eyes just behind the trees, pierce his wings - but these stunts took up so little of the day! Well, he occupied the rest of his time with being completely off the map. Good luck tracking him down for whatever punishment you had in mind, because Wynelle would all but disappear.
He'd be gone for longer stretches depending on his mood (and how big his prank was) but after some time...he kind of liked it. Whether he was among the nameless wildlife in the woods or the faceless crowds in town, Wynelle finally felt free. The birds and leaves had no presumptions of him, and strangers didn't care enough to make any.
Wynelle had mellowed by the time he reached young adulthood, but that didn't mean he was any fonder of conforming. He was simply able to recognize that he and his clan had had more than their fill of each other, and it was time to go.
After a few surprisingly thoughtful words with his remaining family, the dragon quietly flapped off. His old clanmates noted it was the calmest he'd seemed in years.
