Biography
Ramses is a historian and archeologist by trade, having been fascinated by those who came before him since he was old enough to read. His father was a historian as well, only feeding into his passion.
Ramses is one of the lucky few who has had a stable and decently happy life. He's skirted around true wars and their horrors, and was raised in a loving household with plenty of siblings from clutches before and after him. His parents were supportive of his field of choice, seeing it fitting of a Light Imperial. He got along decently well in his field, not particularly remarkable but not terrible either, and it was pure luck alone that brought him to the Scarred Wasteland.
He was following a lead at the time - one of his head researchers thought that an ancient clan they were tracking migrated through the Scarred Wasteland during the spring to spend the summer in the Windswept Plateau, and later the autumn in the Sunbeam Ruins. A place for him in Skell's clan was arranged, and he stayed there during his studies (as they were closest to where the ancients' route was thought to be).
Ramses made a fair few friend in the Plague clan, as he usually did, but he wasn't expecting to befriend the clan's leader. Skell's company was appreciated, though, however unexpected. Usually, he worked alone or with coworkers - having someone else stop by simply to help was... nice. Plus, she was level-minded enough to help him through whatever funks he may have gotten stuck in, and made a habit of picking out details Ramses had missed in his hurry.
It was during their fifth dinner together - which Ramses had once again cooked - that he realized his own feelings. Skell seemed to have the same realization, and recognized it in him, and the meal went on smoothly after that. They finished analyzing the artifacts Ramses had found later, and returned to their own dens that night. To an outsider, nothing had changed between the two dragons, but they knew what had and were closer for it. They officially became mates a few months later. Ramses notified his head researcher that he would be staying in the Scarred Wasteland and sending his findings via courier, and the rest was history.
Ramses, for one, was content with his life, but could see Skell growing tired. He had been wanting to visit the Sunbeam Ruins when Skell brought up moving there for the ESFL, and couldn't see anything against it. Their children were old enough to do well on their own, and most had either moved away or had families of their own by then anyways. It would be nice to be closer to his siblings, too.
He isn't as much of a true member of the ESFL as Skell is, instead still acting as a researcher under his own organization. However, he offers his services when called upon, and is more than happy to provide aid when he can.
