______ Moonbean is seen as a spirit of both death and rebirth. He is often seen with a frozen owl that stands out like a ghost among the landscape of the area, though the owl never makes contact with any of the clan members.

No one truly knows where he came from or who he was before during his life, but he has become a normal part of life for the dragons of the Gem Clan. On clear nights one can see him among the graves of dragons, the moonlight reflecting off the faint colors of his wings and tail fluff.

The most noticeable times MoonBeam can be seen are the deaths of dragon and the birth of hatchlings.

______ When a dragon dies a peaceful and expected death, MoonBeam can seen off in the distance as though he is waiting to help the spirit of the dragon move on to the afterlife. However, if a dragon dies a violent death or an unexpected death he becomes a little more active. If no one is near the body, MoonBeam can be seen hovering around the body as though morning them before helping them move on to the next life. If there are others near the body, they will hear wind though there is none and see the glisten of his wings for a brief moment as he come to carry away the spirit of the poor soul.

When new dragons hatch, the presence of MoonBeam can be felt and a faint outline of him can be seen, with his tale-tale sign of simmering wings and tail puff being seen for an instant. He appears as though to make sure the new generation is healthy and ready for the world. He is known to watch over the young dragons for their first few months of life. One such example is on stormy nights with frightened hatchlings facing thunder and lightly for the first time. When the dark comes and the storm rolls in, to help calm the crying babes he can be heard humming an ancient lullaby which has been lost for centuries.

______ The only dragons he regularly checks on in Amara and Azrial, who were both born with the grave-marking, a sign of connection to the spirit world. Though he does not speak to them, he guides them and will now and then play with them, but only on empty nights with a full moon. After hundreds of year, MoonBeam is beginning to remember what it felt like to be alive.
