Melqart's second-in-command, the maitre d' of the Crispy Phoenix. Calm and collected, and very adept at making sure the place runs like a well-oiled machine, even during the most hectic of mealtimes. The restaurant is usually looking for new staff, and she’s the one who trains them and makes sure things don’t get too crazy for them on their first few days on the job.

AIDAN


ALOYSIUS
An old fart, in his early- to mid-60s. His skin is tanned and he's got a slightly leathery-looking face from years of being on the road. Some crow's feet from squinting too much while working, and laughter lines from too much giggling (or maybe just really deep wrinkles from screaming at his son "SAGRAAAAAAD! DON'T TOUCH [RIDICULOUSLY DANGEROUS OBJECT]!!!" many, many times over). His overall build is stocky, fairly rotund. Large, calloused hands, surprisingly nimble and graceful. His hair used to be deep, vivid orange (Sunshine and Marigold), but is now turning white. Straight hair, always kept cut short, looks a bit like cotton candy because of the color.

In his younger days, most of his outfits were very basic and workmanlike: shirts and breeches and workboots. Nowadays he mostly wears heavy robes. His favorites are orange brocade with purple embroidery (Marigold Poison). Boots are of soft leather, surprisingly plain (Carrot). He likes this outfit because it's a lot more comfortable and hey, looks dramatic as heck, but will readily swap it for his usual working clothes if he has stained-glass jobs to do. Often works bare-handed. Dangerous, but fun! (Come on, he's an old dude and this is all the excitement he gets these days.)

Does not actually have wisps of fire following him about, but he can manifest them. A favorite trick is to make flames erupt from his hands while slipping shades on and telling Faustino "YOOOOO I'M HOTTER THAN YOOOOUUU". The amulet around his neck holds some of his power and can shoot lasers when he's really annoyed.

Walks with a slight limp, owing to the accident that ended his wanderings. May sometimes use a heavy cane; staunchly refuses to get a wheelchair. He's not very tall -- maybe about 5'6" -- and will sometimes need to be carried in emergencies. The exception to this is when he is with Faustino, for whom picking things up and yeeting them away just for the sake of exercise is second nature.


CELANDINE
A short young lady, maybe 5' and 2-3 inches tall. Not too solidly built. The words "waif-like" and "wispy" could be ascribed to her, especially because she's always fluttering around the restaurant, making sure things are running smoothly. Skin is very pale and clear. She is most commonly seen in her manager's uniform, with the sash. Prefers to wear skirts and low heels. The heels are a great help to workers who are slacking off: If you hear them coming, start looking busy.

Hair is very silky and is naturally wavy. Very pale pink, almost white, with a rainbow sheen (Pearl Iridescent + Shifting Kelpie Mane). Stops above the shoulders, and is buzzed short and close to the head on both sides, except for a longer section in the middle. Celandine can either comb this to one side, or part it to conceal the buzzcut. (I'm pretty sure that this hairstyle has a name, but I cannot for the life of me remember what it is.)

Likes to wear make-up. Prefers soft, pastel colors that make her seem to glow. Her outfits when she isn't at work are eclectic: She might wear casual, scruffy shirt and trousers today and switch to a frilly sundress tomorrow.

REGIUS
A lanky guy. He would be tall, but is perpetually stooped-over or slouching due to narcolepsy. Terrible posture even when sitting or lying down. You know ragdoll physics in video games? That's how Regius looks. Regius is ragdoll physics personified.

Is not actually blue-skinned like he is in the drawings, but is nearly there. His skin is very pale, almost white, and there are places where the veins are clearly visible. Often looks nearly blue due to how cold he is. Skin is always cold to the touch. Because he's almost always submerged underwater, people often expect him to have webbed fingers and toes. No, he does not have these; stop asking. No, he does not have gills either. Yes, he breathes underwater; don't...don't ask me how he does that without gills. Magic, OK? Magic explains everything.

Regius' clothes are specially-treated to withstand being underwater and to also keep him warm. His favorite color is blue, and he'll often wear voluminous robes he can wrap around himself. The armor that's bonded to him (Hydrone accent) is fixed to his back and limbs: long fins jutting awkwardly from his spine and limbs.

His hair is dark blue (Turquoise Facet) and wavy; it would be frizzy if it weren't always damp. The diamond circlet helps keep it out of his eyes. His face is rather plain-looking, though he does have dreamy-looking eyes -- because he is perpetually on the verge of dropping off to sleep.


STARBLAZE


TALJIWALD
Majestic, fantastic, and utterly creep-tastic. These adjectives apply to all three of her forms:

• Astral: Mostly visible to those with special sight, but she can also show it to non-sighted dragons she wants to creep out. Just a collection of wispy, smoky shadows and flickering blue lights. These swirl about and are usually amorphous, but at times will loosely arrange themselves in a humanoid shape, with most of the lights concentrated where the head and torso should be. I guess it's kinda pretty...?
  
  
• Getting There... Transitioning: The lights sort of thin out, stretching to fill the dark space until they form a distinctly human shape. This is the one shown in the illustration: ghostly blue-white, with a faint glow. Unusually tall, almost six feet, though it's a moot point because she's always floating. Her hair has great volume and writhes and drifts as if it's underwater. Has beads and thin ribbons loosely woven through it, and braids wound around her horns. Her dress is long, wispy-looking (not diaphanous -- there simply isn't anything to see underneath, literally), and sort of ancient Grecian. Slim hands, with sharp fingernails. Feet are always bare. Eyes are light green, like a cat's, always glowing. She is always smiling.
  
  
• BOOYAH! Visible: This form can be seen by everyone, so now everyone can freak out together! Yaaaaayy! Base color of skin is very dark blue (Abyss), with weird lights flickering just beneath it in shades of light blue and green (Caribbean Petals). Will sometimes have thin ribbons of green light washing over her form like waves (Mint Smoke). Dress is now deep blue and, depending on the lighting, might be luminous, like the sky at dusk, or just plain, cloudy glaucous. Can walk on the ground now, but will often continue floating and glowing to continue creeping people out. Non-stop smiling. Nothing can hurt her, and she knows it. She's coming to get you. Run.

In all three forms, she moves sort of like she's underwater. Unearthly grace, so smooth it'll make your skin crawl. Looks to be in her late 20s. Very beautiful, but the way she looks at others is unsettling. Deep fascination, and you may get the feeling that she likes you, but that she is not your friend -- and, should you find yourself in trouble, she will not do anything to help you. Just float there and watch. And smile.
