Ever since she was a child, Cherie has always shown exceptional leadership skills. While she may be introverted, preferring her hobbies over socializing with other dragons, she's been known to take control of almost any situation and has guided many of her younger colleagues through encouraging words. She's also a natural born adventurer and this upset and worried her parents. They felt that while she was an excellent leader, she was rather weak physically, and her size set her at a disadvantage if she were to run into any dangerous creatures. This love of discovering new places ultimately led to her departure from her clan, but on a good note. She felt too "tied down" within her family and explained that she was old enough to leave and form her own clan now.
While she did miss her family, Cherie appreciated the solitude for a while. She was free to practice her magic without the fear of accidentally harming someone. The young Fae made a small roost in a tree, spun with its sap in the Starwood Strand, and for some time she remained undiscovered. She's quite small, even for a Fae, and she lived alone so her roost blended in easily within the tangled branches. Eventually, her living space began to get crowded from all of the gems, ores and minerals she hoarded, and to her dismay she had to relocate. This is when she met her future mate, Drack.
Now, Drack is a Mirror. Typically, they're ferocious predators that hunt in groups. Drack had been on his own, and when she carefully observed him from afar, she noticed that he'd been injured.
At first she was too scared to help, as his species aren't exactly known for being gentle. Still,
she doesn't like to see others suffer, and she figured that maybe if she helped him, he'd be thankful and not decide to eat her for supper. After a bit of healing magic and some know-how on herbal medicine, Cherie and Drack became fast friends (though there was some initial hesitance on his part) and eventually grew closer when she discovered that they had many things in common -- notably their allegiance to the Arcanist and their shared interest in astronomy. Together they decided to settle down in the Starfall Isles. Wherever Cherie went, Drack followed. Their unbreakable bond led them to the idea to start their very own clan, accepting any dragons who share their love for magic and the unknown.
Cherie spends most of her time mentoring her apprentices in the art of magic. Many regard her as a highly skilled mage and she takes anyone wishing to hone their skills under her wing.
