B I O G R A P H Y

Kaiyo was born a royal, his bloodline meant he would never have to work a day in his life. Unfortunately for his parents, Kaiyo was not the type of dragon to sit and wave away his life. He was an explorer; even as a welp he was constantly getting lost climbing in the trees of the palace garden, working out how high he could go before the branches started to bend and snap. His studies did not come naturally to him, he spoke too much and spent too much time making friends with anyone that could spare the time for the chatty prince.
By the time he reached the cusp of adulthood, his family accepted that he needed to leave, to take some time away from his royal responsibilities and travel. It was then that they allowed the young prince to roam Sornieth, but only with the promise that he would one day settle down and have the children that his bloodline required of him. Not thinking about it too much, Kaiyo agreed happily. He was never one to think over his decisions too long, but that hadn't stopped him this far and he wouldn't let it stand in his way of getting the future he wanted.

It was only a few days of travelling before Kaiyo found himself feeding his mind with cartography and geology, as well as non-dragon biology, folktales and his ability to cook improved rapidly. He learnt more in the few weeks travelling than he had in his years of study at the palace, quickly amassing the information he needed to become the explorer he knew he was always destined to be. Kaiyo's inability to stop talking was good for him now, he collected names and faces through his quick wit and cheerful demeanour.
In those early days of exploring Sornieth, Kaiyo was never lonely. But, as the friends he made on his travels drifted away on their own adventures, he found himself wishing for a more stable travelling partner. He longed for someone that would help him understand the things he was discovering, the things that he wanted to tell the world.
And, as if by magic, that very dragon stumbled into his life. Machi, his closest friend and most stable presence in Kaiyo's life, found him as he was attempting to settle to make the Kaiyo Organisation, a dream of his that he'd kept burning in his heart from the day that he'd realised he could teach other dragons about the things he'd discovered. Machi and Kaiyo spent months planning the organisation, wandering the land. .

They stumbled across a small clan, one that like both of the dragons, looked after the world around them. In the clan, Kaiyo found a beautiful girl. Her name is Ruri, she was stunning. Machi decided to tease his best friend about Kaiyo's newfound crush, commenting on the way that the dragon's whiskers would tremble and quiver as she walked past him, which sent Kaiyo into a defensive blur of words and guestures.
Luckily for Kaiyo, Ruri wasn't as blind to the dragon's lingering looks as Kaiyo was to hers. She approached him one night, her soft feathers ruffling in the soft breeze. The tongue-tied dragon shook in his skin, his usual loud and sunny disposition muted. Still, Ruri found him funny, his shyness was cute to her, and eventually, Kaiyo found himself opening up to her some more. She was kind and sensitive, and Kaiyo wanted more of her in his life. His sunny personality made Ruri's day, every day.
The two of them were happy, their tribe was safe and full of dragons they wanted to be friends with, and the Kaiyo Organisation boomed across the land. Kaiyo found himself contented, thinking back to his childhood filled him with a warmth, but his present filled him with hope.
