Rogozin

Prince fled from his home into the dessert, the last surviving member of a once great kingdom. His people began practicing dark and unnatural magic. The forest they lived in turned on them, flowers became violent, seeds like viruses destroying them from the inside. Prince escaped, running as hard and as fast as he could. Only the scrolls bearing the history of his now scourged people to keep him company. He still bore the scar of that terrible disease in one of his eyes, which had been disfigured by roots and leaves and buds.

After stumbling through the dessert, Prince discovered a beautiful girl, half buried in the sand. He scooped his hands into the silt surrounding her, digging her out, she seemed to be asleep. More like in a coma. He stared at her face in disbelief, such delicate beauty. Her long eyelashes rested like fans against her glowing skin. Her lips were a beautiful blush of pink and he couldn't help but stare at them. Almost by accident, he touched his thumb to them . . .

Just then her eyes flew open and she fixed him with a wide eyed stare. "Where am I?"

She looked scared. His eye usually did that to people. He was startled himself. "Honestly I don't know. I got lost on my way through the dessert, then I found you lying here. How did you get here anyway?"

"I don't know . . ." Her eyes searched his face as if he could have the answer there, lingering on his eye in a way that made him self conscious. But he was used to the stares anyway.

"What's your name?" He asked in a kind voice, trying to put her at ease.

A pause and then "I don't know" she said, her eyes filling with tears.
