From the moment Ailey was able to read, she was fascinated by the ocean. Everything about the mysteries that lurk down deep interested her. When it came to the point in her life that most young guardians begin their search, when her caregiver finally let her leave to find her charge, she knew exactly where she was going to travel to.

Over the course of a single week, she ran, eager to finally explore on her own. Eventually, she found herself at the writhing cliffs that marked the Sea of a Thousand Currents and the end of The Scarred Wasteland. Amazed, she skirted the cliffs until an old washed up boat caught her eye. She landed a few meters away from it, and approached a smaller blue Imperial who appeared to be dragging newly smoothed wood towards the boat. The imperial seemed confused to see her, but suspiciously agreed to let her search the area.

When she approached the boat, a rush of excitement and energy flowed, and she put her head to the boat, calmed. This was her charge. The Imperial introduced himself to be Koras, and Ailey explained to him that this was her charge, and if he was fixing it, then she would help him in any way she could, and would follow him wherever the boat sailed.

Her gratefully accepted task was to watch over and keep record of the various supplies they plundered and found. She isn't fond of the way the group do things, but she tries to ignore it and busies herself with repetitive tasks or reading the various books they pick up along the way.
