______ Gemflower had long forgotten how and when she was born; she never valued these things after all. Her parents either died or left her alone, and she had to grow up on her own. She was always loyal to the great Father of the Winds, Windsinger. Soon, however, she made her travel to the Earthshaker's domain and became interested in gemstones and their abilities to affect the dragon's life. Soon enough she found out that brilliant rose quartzes matched her scales, and glimmering emeralds were almost equal to her wings. She decided that this mean these gemstones were somewhere within her scales, too, and so she founded the Gemscales, the monks who live by their own laws.

______ This was the time when she faced her greatest happiness - and her greatest sorrow. Soon after she started building her clan, a young Mirror dragon appeared. He didn't have a name, so Gemflower named him Icecleaner, for his scales resembled the ice in the spring. They decided to rule the Gemscales together, and Gemflower soon gave birth to two hatchlings: Nastara, a Mirror dragon, and Lillyo, a Fae. However, after the hatchlings were born, Icecleaner became deadly I'll, and all Gemflower could do was pray to the Windsinger. Soon enough a Gusting Goblin came and delivered a message saying that Icecleaner would only be safe under the deity's wing. So Gemflower exalted him, and she and Nastara agreed that all of their hatchlings would be exalted too so nobody would ever meet the same fate and Windsinger would still protect them. Lillyo had to go to another clan, for his mother's grief pained him. Little he knew that his mother was even more broken when he left...
