Ashaya might not be the oldest member of this clan, but she has certainly been here the longest. She doesn't remember much from her childhood, but she knows one thing: She is a highborn daugter of the mighty Shadowbinder. A pureblooded Guardian with the desire to serve her mother and the power to hold her clan together.
Though she is still young, she has bred a number of sons and daughters who later left the clan to join their grandmother.

summer
letting go of the flowers,
she watched them twirl away in the breeze
tens of leaves, hundreds of petals
thousands of tiny seeds.
how long it had been summer,
she did not know.
but it had been long enough that all the grass had dried up.
she didn’t like it either.
in fact, she was of purest winter
cold and dark and empty.
and had somehow ended up here,
throwing these flowers away to the breeze
just like it was nothing.
when they eventually landed,
it would undoubtedly be spring,
as the wind blowing all through autumn and winter
would prevent them from ever falling.
and by the time she found them again,
it would be summer
a year would have passed
and she would have spent all of it wandering
trying to find the next flowers.
at least, that was the plan.
for those who served the shadows
never deviated from their plans.
even if they hated them.
but some part of her said,
“you have better things to do”
and whether or not she really did,
she liked to think so.
but what would those things be?
she had been walking, fighting to protect these flowers
for as long as she could remember.
and she knew,
that she would be doing the same thing
for as long as she would live.
