Relay circled around Jetta, the smaller dragon sitting in the center of a claw-etched circle in the sand, drawn by Relay earlier that day. It looked almost unnatural, with how precisely it was drawn. She could see Jetta taking glances at it as the skydancer watched her slowly pace around the circle. Her footsteps were nearly silent despite her massive size, her apparel's clinking making slightly noise than her claws brushing stone. After one circle around Jetta, Relay began to speak, still pacing.

"Jetta. You are... interested, in my art. I've seen you have, and use, unnatural magic, that I can't explain. I suppose it's only natural you'd be so curious as to what I truly do, then. You want to know more, to do more, am I right?"

Jetta nodded, saying nothing. Relay continued, "Well, I'll show you. Do you trust me?"

Relay stopped, watching Jetta. Jetta stared at Relay, seeming to hesitate before nodding. "I do." Relay nodded back, and gestured to the necklace on the ground in front of Jetta. It looked ancient in design, yet the metal shone as though it had been forged hours earlier. The gold chain was threaded through a loop on top of an old sandglass. Jetta looked down at it, before picking it up and placing it around her neck. She said nothing as she waited for Relay to continue.

Relay stood in front of Jetta, towering over the smaller dragon. "Do you really, truly want the power to move through time? The moment you move through the timeline, your present no longer exists. It simply becomes another point on the line. You can return to it, you could return to right now, this point in time, but it will no longer be the present. Present, past, future, these things won't exist for you. Do you understand, do you accept this as your world?" She'd lowered her head close to Jetta's, causing the skydancer to lean her head back in slight apprehension. At Relay's question, however, she gave a determined nod. "I do. I want to learn to do what you can. I can't go back..." she paused, remembering her home, "but I can keep going this way." Relay thought about her response for a moment before accepting it and taking a step back.

"Stand up." She commanded Jetta, who did as told. Relay began to speak, in a language long lost to most dragons, from before even the times of the Speaker. It rolled off her tongue smoother than standard Draconic, soothing but powerful. Her claws began to glow a bright blue, like that of the markings down her body, mixed with a sort of odd grey. She started to circle Jetta again, this time her claws etching runes into the ground around the circle Jetta stood in, connecting each one to it. Her voice held a steady rhythm, and as she continued, the runes began to glow the same blue as her claws, the glow creeping in towards the circle.

Eventually, she came back around to stand in front of Jetta, the final rune connected to the first, the blue glow so bright it colored the surrounding area in a faint blue overlay. Relay's words had grown louder, and she watched the blue magic begin to spiderweb from the marks containing it, quickly moving inward towards Jetta. The skydancer flinched as the first point of magic touched her, but she relaxed at a reassuring nod from Relay. The magic crawled up her legs, moving across her body and locking her in place. It surrounded her, the brightness forcing her eyes closed as it neared the pendant around her neck, wrapping itself around the ancient sandglass. Relay's chanting came to a halt as the magic entirely covered both Jetta and the sandglass. The magic suddenly flared, reaching its brightest point, Relay herself closing her eyes against it.

When she blinked them open again, she could see Jetta laying on the ground, the runes in the ground dull. She walked up to the skydancer, about to nudge her before she coughed, staring up at Relay. Relay leaned her head down, a kind smile on her face. "You alright?"

Jetta coughed again, but nodded. "Yeah, yeah I'm fine. Just a bit dizzy." Relay nodded, using a wing to help Jetta shakily stand, the skydancer putting a paw on Relay's shoulder for support. "Ah, that's normal. You'll be just fine in an hour or so." She led Jetta away from the clearing, back to the cave in the mesa nearby they shared. She'd teach Jetta how to use her new powers tomorrow; for now, she'd let the skydancer rest.
