Salawa: Technologic

  1. Raised by a Nocturne mother, Salawa's origins were shrouded in mystery as no one in the Clan knew who his father was.

  2. While there are different theories as to the identity of his forebear almost everyone can agree that he was an Imperial of hulking size. There are stories told to this day in Salawa's original Clan of how he stirred the storm winds into a frenzy as his serpentine body weaved and slithered amongst the clouds.

  3. Some theories surrounding Salawa's father range from him being an agent of the Tempest Spire sent to spy on the Clan's productivity, or a member of a rival Clan bent on stealing trade secrets or blueprints for inventions. Perhaps the most fantastical theory of them all is that he wasn't a dragon but was instead the embodiment of violent storm winds. The Tempest come to life.

  4. Even Salawa's mother does not know his name or if she does will not speak it to anyone.

  5. When he was growing up, Salawa's mother was a constant presence in his life. A tinkerer, specializing in puzzles she was the one to fill Salawa's childhood with mathematical equations and formulae and conundra. She encouraged him to think outside the box and nurtured his problem-solving skills.

  6. Salawa had, what his mother called, an impulsive temper. He was quick to become frustrated, and in those times the storm clouds would darken, and the winds whip them into a frenzy. His strange magic perpetuated the claims that his father was more than a dragon, but as he grew Salawa has strived to get this magic under control. The only time he does lose his grip on his temper is when his loved ones are threatened.

  7. Salawa is a natural at logical thinking and a master of debate. He loves to solve problems be it of a mechanical or mathematical nature or problems between the dragons in his clan. Unfortunately, Salawa is not as attuned to emotions, and his straightforwardness can cause offense.

  8. A little over a year after he came of age, Salawa decided that he wanted to travel to the lands of the Arcanist and further his studies. Even though his homeland had its fair share of scholars, Salawa did not appreciate the almost mercenary edge they had with their knowledge. They were always grasping forward, while Light was looking to the past and so the balance of the Starfall Isle was the place to which Salawa headed.

  9. As he traveled through the domain of the Arcanist, Salawa became more enamored of the whimsical lands. He traveled from Clan to Clan, and though his love for learning made him palatable to many, he finally settled in one that made its home in the Starwood Strand.

  10. From there Salawa continued his studies, earning his reputation as a wise sage. However, something was still missing from his otherwise stellar records. No matter how much he learned, he still fell short when it came to illogical emotions.
  11. His relationship with the Skydancer Rayne began as a purely professional one. Employing her talents at reading the energies of the dragons around her, Rayne began to teach Salawa to be more compassionate. As their bond deepened, they became mates.

  12. Salawa and Rayne both serve as Sages and advisors in the Clan with Rayne tempering his sometimes harsh solutions with kindness. It does not always work, but Salawa feels that he is getting closer to understanding the various nuances and that in itself is progress.
