Lixue-Adopted Daughter

An Assassin and an Albino

Feeling sympathy for others wasn't someting Cass did often. Being an assassin, he needed to block out emotions as he did his duties. Of course, that didn't mean he couldn't feel it only meant he could cry alone in his den at night.

He joined the wind clan with his sisters, and immediately upon arriving, they were put to work. In order to trust a new member of the wind clan family, Topaz tests dragons with duties that may not be what they want. He wants to know what the new dragons can do, how they think, and especially if they are dangerous to the health of his clan. The leader had gotten cautious as they let new dragons join.

Topaz had seen too much, yet he was still young. Cass notes this all down, making sure to watch just as carefully as Topaz.

Cass's first few weeks were set to patrol/nightwatch. He didn't mind his duties, especially since he had a lot of time to himself to think.

There was a brief meeting when he first arrived, similar to an orientation. Cass got to meet a few dragons, learn the functions of many, and got a tour of the clan. He and his sisters really liked the new clan.

A dragon had caught his attention, and as a result, many of his nightwatch duties led to thinking about said dragon. He was unusually white, with black horns that were surprisingly cute. Those thoughts were dangerous to Cass, but he really wasn't worried.

He could tell the white dragon liked another. The albino had that far away look in his eyes, and seemed to stare at another imperial.
Cass let out a low growl.
He hated being smaller, he hated that dragons liked the same species as themselves. Why couldn't he get a chance to prove himself?

Cass's thoughts were his own worst enemy. No matter what he could do- Take down bad guys, hunt like a champion, woo the girls- He could do it all. But his thoughts kept him trapped. He didn't like girls, he didn't want to be a champion, he didn't want to end another's life unless he had to.

Honestly all he wanted was to curl up in the warmth of a larger dragon. He wanted to be loved, to be held close to someone who was stronger than Cass.

....To be held by the white imperial.

A sigh escaped him.

He shifted his weight once again, for the fifteenth time that hour. Oh why couldn't he have just been born as a-

"I ah..." The albino spoke, Cass's attention was taken away from his duties once he heard whispering. He snuck over to the den areas in order to hear more. The crack in the albino's voice worried him.
"I believe that you are very handsome, and perhaps I admire you alike a female dragon would.. I'm sorry that you have to deal with this, I mean- I know how weird this is..." the Albino continued. Cass felt another growl rise up into his throat.

Expressionless was a way to describe the black and white dragon as he stared back.

"Quite one with words," The other imperial growled. "So she wasn't wrong. I assumed it was a prank, but in reality you are repulsive.' The black and white dragon stood up quickly, giving Cass the feeling of surprise mixed with anger. How dare the black and white imperial say that to a brave dragon who poured out his heart and soul for him.

Cass looked at the albino, noticing the pain that was mixed with shame written all over his face. Casss heart sunk. The beautiful white imperial looked so broken, Cass couldn't help but feel for one of his first crushes....Okay, his first crush.

The black and white dragon snarled and walked away, leaving the albino. At first, Cass was going to race to aid his imperial crush, but had a feeling the albino needed some time alone.

The wildclaw wanted to destroy- Eliminate the black and white imperial. WHo was he to say those things? In a sick and twisted part of Cass's mind, a thought revealed itself.

Does that mean the black and white imperial finds Cass repulsive as well? Oh boy, was he going to have a good time.

Cass followed the imperial stealthily, using all of his training in order to not become detected by his prey.

The imperial he was tracking wandered into the bamboo forests, making it easier to see the black and white in the darkness. With his white body, Cass could easily spot him in the dark, and in the bamboo, no one from the clan would see Cass's destruction.

A slight cry leaked out from the imperial's mouth, most of it choking on blood. Cass stood over the much larger imperial, baring his teeth in an animalistic way. Blood plastered itself all over Cass's dangerous leg claws. Those weren't just for decoration, oh no.

They were for revenge

Cass turned around, facing away from the black and white imperial. The bloody scene still clear within his mind. The wildclaw limped away, leaving his work behind. He told himself he wouldn't kill, and he didn't. But that didn't mean he didn't make the imperial pay.

He called Cass a monster. A creature that shouldn't exist. Something of a mistake.

Cass showed the imperial his mistake.

And that was opening his mouth.

Cass finally lied down, whining slightly as his leg bled out a bit. He needed to get his emotions in check, otherwise he might not have been able to hold himself back again. He always had that problem.
He got too worked up over nothing and ended up destroying his hatchling den in a fit.
Of course, this time he had his reasons. Perhaps the albino would be happy to know that he wasn't going to be bothered by that terror of a dragon anymore.

Cass sighed and pulled off his headdress. Why would someone like him though? He just brutally attacked a dragon for speaking profane sentences. What if he couldn't control himself next time?

He pulled out a small box from the lion mane. He gently slid it open, revealing ***** and some other odds and ends. He snatched one of the ***** up, staring at it regretfully. Yes, it would help him from lashing out, but he told himself he didn't need to rely on them anymore. He thought he could control himself well enough to live normally.

Too late he admitted to himself, he broke his rule for some other dragon's feelings.

And... His own. He'd always ignored those words before, but something about this cocky black and white imperial set him off. Maybe he did need to go back on his subdue *****.

A tear dropped onto the box he was holding. He was crying, and he hadn't noticed it.
With an outcry, he shoved the **** he held back into the box. He didn't need them anymore, this one time was justified enough.

He slipped the box back into the black mane, before putting back on his headdress. He needed one of the healers help... Names still eluded him, but he was sure he could recognize them once he saw them.

Gantea glared at Cass. He stared back, feeling nervous for once.
"Injuries like this were dragon inflicted. You noobie better not have gotten into a fight with another clan, we are not ready for a war right now, especially now when we are already in this civil one." Gantea warned, tightening his leg bandages.

He let no trace of his emotions show, however he did let out a tiny sigh.

"No, it was one of our own clan. Just a small dispute, nothing to worry about." Cass tried, not releasing too many details of what had happened.

"You fought with Damianus, the literal reason we hare having a civil war in this clan." Gantea deadpanned, her tail tip twitching in annoyance. "Look, I'd love to stay here grilling you, but I have another more important wildclaw to attend to. Please, go get food and try to stay out of everyone's way."

He didn't expect the 'gentle healer' to be this stressed, but he didn't think upon it too much. A civil war within a clan could be dangerous, and he'd just found himself in the middle of it.

A few days later, after he'd healed the majority of his wounds, he decided to finally talk to the albino. Cass saw the white imperial getting his portion of food. He was excited, yet nervous at the same time. He nabbed his food right after the albino, which recently he'd found out his name was 'Alba'

Alba (Cass couldn't get enough of saying the albino's name, he absolutely loved it) walked into his den, almost hiding from the other dragons. Cass's heart tightened, for good reason too- as an emotionless Assassin was about to spill his feelings to Alba.

"Alba?" Cass murmured into the albino's den. Alba peeked out of his den to look at Cass, a flicker of confusion was evident on his face.

This was the first time Cass spoke to the beautiful white imperial. He was so nervous for some reason, as if all of his training was thrown out the window.

"Yes?" Alba questioned quietly. Windsinger was he cute-

"May I enter?" Cass replied, shifting his weight from one leg to the other. "I'd like to talk with you."

Alba let Cass come into his den, shifting farther inside the cavern like structure. The wildclaw sat down, reaching for his headdress. Cass had never really taken it off in front of another dragon before, but he wanted Alba to see his true emotions.

Cass gently took his headdress off, letting Alba get a good look at his face. Alba looked genuinely surprised, if not amazed.

A mottled pink warmed Cass's cheeks.

"May I... May I eat with you?" Cass asked cautiously, setting food down. Alba's eyes widened.

"Of course," Alba replied. Cass was so nervous he began to stuff his mouth with food so he didn't have to look at Alba. He didn't know why he felt so awkward, he thought before hand this would be easy. Boy was he wrong.

The albino shoved a few fish into his mouth, looking like he was thinking hard. Cass couldn't help but laugh, as the one moment he looked up Alba was making such a funny face with a fish tail sticking out of his mouth. The assassin beamed at Alba, trying not to laugh much.

"You're very cute when you space out." Cass commented, looking down to his claws. "May I come back to eat here again tomorrow?" He knew it was a dangerous question, as he could tell Alba would get implications for the the underlying meaning behind his question.

Alba sighed deeply. Cass flinched at the sigh. Damn, he was right. Alba blamed himself, either that or he mistook the question's intentions. Cass literally didn't know how to vaguely ask "Hey, can you be my mate?" besides "Can we meet up a bunch? and you're cute too by the way".

"I'm not sure you'd like to, I'm not-" Alba started, his voice strained.

"-Normal?" Cass finished, raising an eyebrow. He shook his head, smiling softly. "No, you're not. I heard what happened that night. I was on the night shift... I don't condone that behavior, so I had a word to say with Damianus. Least to say, he didn't get away from my conversation unscathed. Sure, he might not like me anymore, but what he said to you was beyond rude. And least to say, I didn't get away unscathed either, but that's in the past now. I wanted to let you know though, that you have me with you. I mean, if you'll let me. I may not know you well, but... Please let me get to know you."

Did he sound desperate? Nah, not enough. Cass honestly didn't know how to socialize.

"I would love to see you tomorrow. And maybe the next day after that. A-And thank you, I don't know what to say," Alba blurted, a fine shade of pink lighting up his own cheeks. "Getting to know you would be wonderful."

'Oh my windsinger my words worked for once' Cass thought to himself, his heart beating quickly. That blush he had earlier was nothing to the blush now.

Alba curled around Cass, who let out a purr in response. He was in love, he had a mate, and he could finally rest with someone who cared.
