⌈ SHYRZA ⌋
Plague Warrior
2nd Gen • Level 15 • "she/her"
"Yes, I'm still here. I never left."
Shyrza is an extremely loyal warrior to the clan. She has endless love and respect for Satyrion and Yarrow, and she has promised to serve them until the day she dies. Her mostly mechanical appearance tends to scare away hatchlings, so she prefers to be around other warriors instead. She might be part machine now, but she's still the same Pearlcatcher to her friends.
She always carries her pearl around and is very protective over it; it has a slight crack in it. If she can't take her pearl along, she'll leave it in Yarrow's care.
Shyrza has been a long-time member of the clan. Anaphalis and Paladin are her childhood friends. Unlike her brothers-in-arms, however, she doesn't have the position of commander, as she doesn't trust herself with power. She is wholly content with where she is - without a promotion.
⌈ BACKSTORY ⌋
For as long as she can remember, Shyrza has spent most of her life serving the clan as a warrior. She was only a hatchling when Satyrion and Yarrow took her under their wings and raised her as their own. They were like parents to her and taught her everything she knew. Once she was old enough, Yarrow trained her to fight. She can recall the first time she held a wooden sword with her claws. One of her most treasured memories was when Yahel gifted her with her very own real sword.
With every single memory from hatchling to adult, she would continue to grow and shape her pearl. She'd take extra care of it and wanted it to be "perfect." Her pearl was formed around her happiest and fondest memories - never the sad ones. The bad memories, she always preferred to leave in the past and move on from. She was never one to dwell in her thoughts.
While fighting beyond the Arcane borders, Shyrza was struck down and fatally wounded in battle. She tumbled down with her pearl. Her close friend, Paladin, who had been with her at the time, took it upon himself to carry her back. She was already nearly gone when they returned. Satyrion and Yarrow feared losing one of their children.
Despite the grim odds, Kaminari and the other engineers came to a decision and did what they could to save her.
When she woke up, the first thing Shyrza tried to reach for was her pearl. She panicked when she realized it was no longer in her claws. Paladin was the first to see her and calm her down, before presenting her with the pearl. He had the sense to bring it back with them. The first thing she noticed was a slight crack on its surface, which saddened her, but she was still relieved to have it back. If she had lost it, it would be something she could never replace.
It took a few days before everything made sense again. She was glad for the second chance at life, but she didn't quite know what to make of her new metallic body. Hatchlings would give her strange and curious looks, which made her uneasy. She began to hang out more with the warriors and less with the other divisions as a result, but she continues to loyally serve the clan.
It is vague as to how much of her is now machine instead of flesh, but she can assure her friends that she is still the same Pearlcatcher that grew up and fought alongside them. Nothing has changed. She still has her pearl, slightly cracked and all.
