Enceladus

A Jester can learn the same amount of politics in half the amount of time as the Royal Advisor while juggling. He can sway an argument from one faction to another with a well timed joke. He can calm a room with particularly humorous fumble or bring enemies closer by regaling a tale. A well practiced Jester was nothing short of a trickster wrapped up in motley clothes and a Fool's hat.

To put it bluntly, the role of a Court Jester is multifaceted: to be the funny simpleton and the cunning politician, the voice of commonsense and the most ignorant one in the room. This was something that Enceladus knew very well.

When Enceladus came to the Clan he took to the pubs and street corners, garnering his popularity. He would have a place in Court one day, he thought.

One day came sooner than imagined, as a street fair bustled with activity bringing him the Queen's consort and bodyguard Alioth.

"Please," he begged, "I would love to serve the throne. I imagine that such a dark dragon as Her Majesty must be in need of a laugh now and then?"

"The Solstice Festival will be coming soon. Try there, and if she is impressed, you will know," Alioth returned.

The Festival came and Enceladus performed, charming common dragon and royalty alike. Soon the Queen herself approached him, followed closely by Alioth.

"You performed well young one. Perhaps you would like to perform at my Court?"

Now Enceladus sits as a the favored Jester in a court of Fools. He may perform for Nyx but he only serves the true Ruler of the Clan, and waits patiently for his day to prove himself to Him.
