Biography

*Splat* A large blue paint drop splattered onto Moonbeam’s nose. She was like Van Gogh in the prison at painting. She painted portraits and landscapes, objects, and dragons. There was nothing too difficult for her to paint. Today she was distracted by her subject, so she wasn’t the neatest of painters. Her subject today was a large bogsneak named Caspian who had once been her lover. They had three children together but now he didn’t remember who she was. They had fallen in love as young dragons but once it came time to serve their time with the gods, Caspian and Moonbeam drifted apart like ships in the night. She doubted that he even remembered who she was, but when he asked for her to paint his portrait, she readily agreed hoping to reignite the passion between them. They were from two opposing sides, she was a clan ambassador for the Lightweaver and he served the Tidelord. Together, they were like Romeo and Juliet destined to be apart. Could they make a relationship work?

Moonbeam lifted her brush to the canvas once more, she was nearing the end of her painting and it was now or never to make her move. Moonbeam cleared her throat and looked at Caspian lovingly. “Sir, do you remember the times we had picnicking in the park and working summers in the prison?” She didn’t want to reveal too much in case he didn’t feel the same about her. She figured he was trying to come up with a way to let her down gently, so she went back to painting with a muttered, “nevermind.” Each stroke of the brush, each stolen glance at the handsome dragon before her, made her heart flutter. She would eventually get over him, but for now she would allow herself to feel love. Finally, the painting had been finished and it was time to get Caspian’s approval on the final work before she could post it in her gallery. Caspian arose from the couch he was laying on and swaggered over to Moonbeam. “Do you remember the three little children we had? Two of them were like me but one was like you. I remember you Moonbeam, you were my queen.” Caspian whispered the last few words hoping he wouldn’t embarrass himself. He knew there was no way she could still love him after all the time that had passed.

Moonbeam smiled at Caspian, “You do remember me and how could I forget our three precious children. One has moved to a lair in the land of the windsinger, one is serving the Shadowbinder, and our little snapper girl is now a guardian and lives in the land of the Shadowbinder. They make me so proud. I have a question to ask of you, which may sound silly. Do you still love me?” She looked away quickly so he wouldn’t see her blush. She hoped she hadn’t ruined their friendship and that maybe just maybe he would still love her and there could be something more between them. Moonbeam was about to give up hope, when Caspian cleared his throat and began to speak. “I have never stopped loving you and I hoped one day I would find you again. We are both done serving our deities and I believe we could have a happy future together. You as my painter wife and me as your aquarium-running husband. Will you Moonbeam, take me as your husband for the rest of our lives?” Moonbeam nodded quickly before snuggling up to Caspian, kissing him sweetly. “Together, FOREVER!” She whispered in his ear as she made room in her heart and life for him to share.
