Perhaps its not unfinished- perhaps this is a metaphor for life composed into a painting. Perhaps this brilliance is the answer to the questions we all have! Or perhaps... procrastination. (Special thanks to Raptured.)

His childhood was orderly but not strict, the days spent learning basic fighting skills with his mother. But the runes ornamenting his hide were not much more than that- ornaments- and he quickly tired of sparring. He followed behind his father for some time, apprenticing as a carpenter before realizing that the specifics of woodwork weren't for him, either. In his free time, he found himself in the library, soaking up whatever books he could get his hands on, often trying to make his way into the restricted section but never succeeding. He took to sorting through new books for a while, and he decided that while he loved the careful work of restoring the oldest of the books in the library, he might like to try his hand at seeking out those books that needed to be rescued.

Of course, only time will tell if he sticks to it.
