Darjeeling is a rainforest dragon. Unlike most water element dragons who take the energy for their powers from bodies of water such as oceans and rivers, he instead sources his magic from the frequent rains and humidity of the jungle climate. Using this approach means he rarely needs to stray from his forest home in the tall, gnarled ancient trees on the border of the Tangled Wood, just shy of Heron Cove. This suits Darjeeling just fine, as he is a solitary, peaceful dragon who usually prefers the company of the other fauna he shares the jungle with, and periodic visits with his father Avodire with whom he shares the ancient woods.
Darjeeling's primary powers are as a seer. He experiences random, periodic visions every few suns. Despite regular practice, he is not yet able to summon visions on command, nor does he know whether the visions he witnesses depict past, current, or future events. Once every moon cycle, he flies back to Heron Cove to convey his most recent visions to the clan leaders. While he does not spend most of his time at the Cove, he was one of the first dragons ever to be born within its shores and is always treated with great respect when he visits. His mother Amalthea is Queen Regnant of Heron Cove, and she is expected to remain impartial when he visits, but he can't resist sneaking in before court commences with a sack of their favourite cragside mussels to share as they swap stories.
