Hypatia is an outcast in her clan, and with good reason. Although her intentions seem to be good, her means are less so. More than willing to stoop to tasks such as thievery and even murder if she deems it appropriate, Hypatia is not the most morally good of the bunch.

Even with the clan being generally accepting of all faults, her stubborn belief in her own values leave her with nobody to trust and nobody who trusts her. It's commonly known from the age of a hatchling that within the clan that she is someone who needs to be avoided. To even speak with her would be enough to dirty a dragon's name, and so she lives in near isolation so long as she stays within the lair. There are few who still communicate with her, but there is still a distance between them and Hypatia.

Despite the lack of acceptance in the clan, she plays an integral role in holding it together in doing the dirty work required to keep the illusion of peace together and allow a more put together environment. Without her work, however dreaded, the collapse of a system that seems unbreakable would be near inevitable.

Outside of her work, Hypatia is a relatively peaceful dragon. Even though she is quite feared, she lives her life just as any dragon does, going through the motions of her daily needs and searching out something pleasant to do as entertainment. After all, she means no harm, so long as it isn't necessary. Due to her cunning personality, she often finds a way to get discounts on near anything that she could want, using her own personal funds rather than going through the clan's treasury.
