Kaas is the clan's founder, a no-nonsense Wildclaw who struck out from the Stormcaller's lands to stake his claim.

Kaas is paranoid, crafty and manipulative; he uses his tamed birds as his spies, and reserves as much gold as he can get for himself and his inner circle. His ambitions reached their peak when his clan came to worship him like a Diety; but insurgence rose quickly and Kaas now finds himself forced to share power between himself, Beatrix and Paragon, the two Ridgebacks acting as checks.

Despite his bouts of megalomania, Kaas is not a bad clan leader; he treats his followers magnaimously and has quite the head for tactics. But with his ambitions squeltched Kaas finds himself bitter and ever more on edge. He trusts few of his clan, now; even his inner circle of consorts are not safe from scurtiny. Only Msasi is truly loyal, he feels - after all, he gave her little choice.
