A traveler dragon!

Uh-oh, looks like this debonair icicle wandered a little too far from his lair 35255 kittytealeaf, and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here.

Ike was a cheap little baby on the auction house, begging to be loved with his shining eyes. He found a good home in a lair with a bunch of flowery, nature-oriented dragons, which was an interesting change from his homeland in ice. He mated with a dragon named Tierzyrook and birthed three lovely babies. The brothers went to live together in an alliance clan, while the sister went to live in another fire clan.

Ike loves his home clan, but wants to see the world! He hopes to return someday with stories to tell his clan mates and, maybe, his hatchlings. His clan happily awaits his return. (Please, feel free to add to his story!) He left 7/26/14

About Ike: He likes to make other dragons comfortable. He's fond of hatchlings, and not the fighting type. However, he is not adverse to being on lookout. He's a skilled candle maker.

So far, Ike's time in Clan Starkhaven has been... an adventure. He was immediately roped into caring for some of the clan's hatchlings not long after he arrived. Thankfully, the group he was to look after has been fairly obedient and quiet so far. Three Pearlcatchers and one Skydancer. Something seems.... off about the Skydancer though. He never speaks a word, and never has since he first hatched. His eyes, though they appear to be a Light dragon's, seem to have a different presence lurking in them. Like Dumat isn't really a hatchling, or never was.

Anyway, the other three have been delightful to look after for him. Two of them are siblings, and the brother is protective of his sister. They both enjoy hearing Ike's stories of his home clan, and (gently, if that's even possible) pester him for more. He indulges them occasionally.

After making candles for every dragon in the clan, Ike set off in the evening to continue his travels. He had a heartfelt farewell gathering waiting for him, and every dragon said their goodbyes.

Ike found himself in a lair full of pearlcatchers just like him. Every dragon had a mate though and the males in the clan made it very clear that they were not entirely comfortable with his presence without a mate of his own. The clan also had two mirror couples who were much friendlier and a ridgeback couple that kept to themselves. He made good friends with Trogdor a spiral whose mate had decided to leave the lair the day before. She left behind three baby hatchlings who were all ready looking to follow in their mother's footsteps. While Ike enjoyed being around other pearlcatchers, not feeling entirely welcome he chose to move on.

7/29-8/2/14
Ike wound up in a plague clan for far longer than he'd originally anticipated. He had to admit, he was a little concerned about catching something. However, he put aside his fears and carried on. The matriarch begrudgingly allowed him to stay and rest for a while, where he immediately set up shop, so to speak.

A couple of the clan's smaller dragons gathered around the candlemaker and happily helped distribute Ike's creations throughout the lair. Some of the natives didn't quite understand, while others accepted the gifts eagerly. Either way, the clan made sure his gift didn't go unappreciated. In between his crafts, he would keep the spiral hatchlings preoccupied enough to stay out of everyone else's hair.

On his final day, he thanked his assistants and headed off, surprisingly no worse for the wear.

8/3/2014

Upon entering the Frigid Floes, Ike came across a group of dragons gathered in a small clearing around a bonfire. Their surroundings were nothing more but a few massive pines and several snow covered boulders being utilized as perches. He could hear singing and laughter emanating from their direction. He cautiously approached the assembly, making sure not to disturb whatever festivities were taking place. Once he was within a tails reach of the merry bunch, a white Coalt covered in crystals that resemble freshly fallen snow noticed his presence.

The Coalt's fierce icy eyes met Ike's, and a wave of intimidation washed over him. The once lively cluster had grown as deathly silent as the frozen wastes that surrounded them. Every single dragon's gaze was now fixed upon Ike's nervous being. A few moments of uncomfortable staring passed before the Coatl whom had first sighted him began to make his way towards him. Ike didn't know what to expect at this point. His mind began to race with thoughts of panic such as 'Should I turn and flee? Should I prepare to fight? What is he going to do to me?'

Ike suddenly found himself frozen in fear as the daunting Coatl now stood before him. He glared at Ike sternly, making no movements other than his bright pink forked tongue darting in and out of his serpentine mouth ever few minutes. Ike felt his body begin to uncontrollably tremble with dread, clenching his beloved pearl so tightly that his knuckles were almost white. Suddenly without any warning, the frosty Coatl burst into laughter and wrapped his arm around the petrified Pearlcatcher's shoulder. He then smiled at Ike and said, "Had you there for a second, didn't I? Come, join us by the fire friend. Welcome to my Clan. They call me Firn."

The entire mood had changed in a heartbeat. Everyone was laughing and singing once more. Ike breathed a sigh of relief as two fluffy arctic Tundras rushed up and handed him a plate of freshly roasted Snowkissed Centipedes. Firn draped a Winter Wolf Pelt around Ike and said, "I knew from your eyes that you were a child of Ice just as I. Take this as a token of unity, brother." Throughout the night, Ike feasted, laughed, sang and even danced with his new found friends before pursuing his travels once more. He had many other amazing adventures before finally returning to his home. But that's another story.
