Long Dewei and his sister Long Daiyu were twins born into the imperial Chinese dragon family from the Empress. On the night they were born two streaks of intertwining lightning, one blue and one purple shot down from the heavens, prophesizing luck and prosperity. They lived a lofty life with many fortunes and luxuries, becoming the envy of all. Everyone looked at the twins with admiring eyes except for the honored imperial concubine. Her gazes towards the fortunate twins were full of hatred, envy and disgust. The reason for this deep-rooted hate was because her own son, Long Fan was neglected by the emperor after the twins were born. He was cast aside while Long Dewei was made into the crown prince solely because he was born by the Empress and was seen as lucky. In the honored imperial concubines eyes Long Daiyu was no good either, the emperor would constantly dote on her and give her the finest things no matter the cost. Whereas she, the concubine received a meager allowance each month only living in the lowest of luxury. Because of the jealousy and rage inside of her, the imperial concubine attempted to poison the twin’s multiple times, but continuously failed. Finally she snapped, after having her plans fail every time and watching the continuous doting of the emperor on those children she took the initiative to create an army loyal to only her and dispose of the imperial family. Not only did she want to kill the twins, she also wanted to murder the emperor and have her son take the throne. The imperial concubine built and molded her army to become fierce and unyielding. In a span of 300 years they became a force that even Yama, the king of hell would have trouble dealing with. On one fateful day the imperial concubine personally lead her troops to the imperial palace and ravaged the entire city. Everyone was in shock and panic, never would they have thought the virtuous and gentle concubine who was once the most doted upon by the emperor would attempt to overthrow the emperor and replace him with her son. She had been planning so secretively and had kept her true feelings concealed to the point that even her dearest friends had no idea what she was planning. Needless to say, the plan was successful and the emperor had been replaced by her dear son. Her desires were finally fulfilled and the imperial family had been killed.
Or so she thought… Deep in the night when the imperial concubine was heading towards the imperial palace the Empress woke up her beloved children and quickly lead them to the back of the palace to escape. The twins were confused and befuddled but still followed their mother’s orders to quickly leave the palace and hide. They asked why the Empress was not coming with them but their question was replied with, “When you have become true dragons, come and take back what should rightfully be yours.” Confused and tired, the twins left the palace and travelled into the forest for the night, under the crimson red sky of the night the two dragons slept. When they woke up they heard the spirits of the forest talking about everything that occurred last night and they finally understood why their mother would push them out of the palace and have them hide. It turns out that there was a rebellion and all of their family had died…
From that day on the twins swore to each other that no matter the cost, they would one day obtain enough power to claim back their throne.
