Biography

TERMS AND PHRASES OF THE WINDFLIGHT CLAN

Ascent: A rank which is given to a dragon to denote their position within the Clan. There are five ascents, with dragons in the Fifth Ascent being of the highest rank and dragons of the First Ascent being the lowest.
Here are the ascents and their descriptions in detail:

The Fifth Ascent: Leaders of the Clan, members of the Council (for example, the eleven Flight Ambassadors) and their mates.

The Fourth Ascent: The Clan Elders - dragons who have grown too old to work or fight, and have retired from their jobs. These dragons should be treated with much respect.

The Third Ascent: Healers, scientists, alchemists and librarians. This does not count mage-build warriors.

The Second Ascent: Warriors, or dragons who fight in the Coliseum. This counts every Coliseum build.

The First Ascent: Normal members of the Clan, exalt fodder and regular guests.

Blood: A rank used to determine a dragon's status within the Clan. See Clan Rules 2, 3 and 4 on Argonaut's page.

Gatherer: A broad term referring to any dragon in the Clan that collects meat, seafood, plants, insects or material objects from digging and scavenging. The Head of Gathering in the Clan is Gaia, who manages all gathering expeditions in the Clan.

Night Warrior: A descendant of Pulchrior and Kidara (Ladon, Shadow, Alata, Rahd, Pirrin and Lapis). Part of ZenithNadir'sgenerations project.

Ocean Breeze: A descendant of Diamond and Tsunami and part of TheDeathseer's dead generations project.

Pure-Blood: A term used to refer to the children - not descendants - of Deathseer/Deepsea and any first-gen dragon hatched within the Clan. Grandchildren do not count unless both parents are pure-blood.

Still a work in progress!

The OG's in my Clan are the first few dragons I ever purchased, all of them within a few months of me joining FR:

Let's start with the most obvious; my progens! Deathseer and Deepsea have a bad history together and ended up breaking up after a serious incident (read their son Diamond's lore).
Deathseer fell into depression while Deepsea was soon exiled from the Clan.

Here we have the first dragon I ever bought! King was the Clan's blacksmith, until he grew too old for the job. He's grumpy, strict and doesn't tolerate slacking off, which is bad luck for the next two dragons we'll meet...

34125038.png

34125042.png

Sharpclaw and Jade are brothers, although I admit I didn't realize that at the time of buying them! They used to work for King, until the Imperial couldn't tolerate their mischeivous behavior anymore and fired them.
The brothers soon founded their own restaurant, where most members of my Clan go to grab a meal.
They are usually referred to as the Windflight Cafe Brothers, although there is another set of brothers that work there as well.
(Don't mind Anderson, although he's actually the Blacksmith he just hangs out in the Cafe for most of the day with his brothers.)

34076567.png

This list is not in chronological order, but I probably won't remember the order anyway. Here we have Flamefreeze, the old messenger. When I was browsing the AH and came across him I accidentally bought another dragon instead, who soon left to another Clan (although he left a son and daughter behind).
Fortunately I returned to the AH and purchased Flamefreeze. He has a good home with me now!

34411341.png

Next we have Flow. To be honest he never had a fixed place in lore, he kind of just wandered around the Clan selling homemade accessories and stuff. Others call him a hippie sometimes, but it makes sense as he is very laid-back.

34396832.png

Here's Sapphireclaw! He doesn't really have a job either, but he enjoys playing Pearlball (think soccer/football/whatever you want to call it but with pearlcatcher pearls!) with his friend Pearly.

33930968.png

To be honest I don't consider Pearly an OG but let's just put him here anyway, as his brother is King (see above!). The two brothers eventually found their way to my Clan, but Pearly joined much later as he didn't sell on the AH for the mad price of 50kt.
His owner eventually gave him to me for free, as they saw how much I'd taken care of King.
Pearly is the Clan Scribe, and keeps some of the Clan records and history (although he leaves most of the job to Argonaut and Slateface). In his spare time Pearly likes to annoy others and play Pearlball. He is far more enthusiastic than his brother and happens to be good friends with Sharpclaw and Jade, who King absolutely despises.

My first Bogsneak was Slither - he joined the Clan around a week after it was founded. He used to be the head of the Windflight Army but retired and now serves the role of Plague Rep in the Windflight Clan.

34000593.png

Here's my Light rep, Swiftwings! He's the Clan's lead hunter and loves to prank his friends when he's not doing anything else. I believe he was one of the first outsider dragons to join my Clan, having been bought off the Realm-Wide Auction House like most of the guys here.

33888796.png

But wait, there's still more! Ripple joined the Clan around a week or two after it was founded, at the same time as Slither and Swiftwings. He's the Clan's Lightning Rep, but unlike his Clanmates, he has taken an interest in the Earth Flight, where the Snapper breed originates.

34030524.png

Finally we have Tsunami! She was the first adult dragon I adopted --- oh wait, that award goes to Brownie. Sorry!
Anyway, she is a teacher in the Windflight School and is very close to her mate, Diamond, who she founded a Generations Project with. It's dead, though, but if you want a kid from the project, their son Moonbeam is sitting on a nest right now. :P

32999133.png

Did I say finally? Yes, I forgot about Brownie too!
I adopted him as a Level 10 around a week after I joined FR, and Brownie is actually older than my progens! He is currently the Windflight Clan's Nature rep, and is the best dragon for the job according to himself - after all, he claims to be the 'Grandson of the Gladekeeper' (his parents are Gen 1's).
He's most likely not wrong though, unless someone proves that Gen 1 eggs don't come from the gods themselves. I don't know.

And we're done! That's a lot of dragons and a lot of writing, but I hope you enjoyed reading about the first few dragons to join my Clan! :)

I used to be a water clan when I first started off FR, and it shows in my progenitors and their descendants. Most of my lair is blue themed, and one user commented on my water aesthetic, which, to be honest, I never really considered.
I guess that some of the dragons that made the move from water to wind still consider the sea as their home, but many of my dragons are newcomers or have never been to the water territory.

Territory-wise, I like to think my clan is situated on the edge of the Reedcleft Ascent, near the water border so the 'older' dragons can feel close to home. :)
The Clan is located on five cliffs, with the lowest named the First Ascent and so on (second, third, etc).
Different dens, shops and places such as the healer's den, blacksmith and hatchery are located in different parts of the Clan, and the five leaders and their close family live on the Fifth Ascent, the highest point of the Clan.
There is also a valley below that contains a number of merchant's stalls belonging to temporary residents of the Clan and dragons that can't afford shop space on the main ascents.

I'd say my Clan (lore-wise) is quite focused on creating and selling wares out of mainly bamboo, as it is abundant in Wind territory. We're quite diverse and friendly, welcoming dragons of any flight, and we appreciate their different talents and abilities, although I'm not saying we're not prepared for an invasion.

Might write some more later. (ORIGINAL POST)
