Biography
Narcissus Tazetta - paperwhite daffodil
There is a strange magic in the workings of mirrors. Tazetta knew this well, although perhaps not nearly well enough. Once, he was a famed mage, capable of power beyond that of any of his peers. He had a beautiful, silver-framed mirror that he would use to channel his magic through- for you see, rather than just doubling his image, he'd learned to double his effect as well. But as the years passed and he performed more and more miraculous feats, he became equally more invested in the self he saw in the mirror. In the mirror, he was perfect and all-powerful. In the mirror, there was no one else but him. He had always been covetous of it, but he grew more so by the day, until in a fit of paranoia he performed a spell to fuse it always to his person. But in the midst of his recitations, he looked out across the field, and saw a dragon he deemed - impossibly - as beautiful as himself. The break in his concentration cost him, and while the mirror was indeed fused to his being it had been shattered with his thoughts. Now no dragon can take it from him, but nor can he ever wield it himself again.
