Pigeon is a dragon known to few by name, but known to many by profession. A sly, charismatic and selfish dragon, Pidge spends her time stealing the pearls from Pearlcatchers; most are dead or dying, but she will often take from hatchlings or living dragons in order to add to her own hoard. Most find themselves trusting her at first; she will hop from lair to lair, following the scent of Pearlcatchers in search of improving her stash. Her voice is warm and kindly, and she sucks up to hatchlings very easily. However, after a short time within the Clan she stays with, she will steal the pearls in the dead of night and take her leave. The Clan will find the dragons dead by dawn, and her absence will be notable. Thusly, she is renowned as the Pearl Thief, though again - she hasn't been caught for lack of dragons knowing her true name. Once, before she became determined to hoard Pearlcatcher souls, she was a kindly and homely dragon, who only wished to assist those around her and maybe one day raise hatchlings of her own. Anyone who has ever found Pigeon's lair will notice that she treats the pearls like eggs, keeping them in nests and curling around them as though waiting for a hatchling to emerge. |
