Fester
Fester | Verb
become worse or more intense, especially through long-term neglect or indifference

Fester was born appearing like any other Guardian but soon after her hatching it was discovered she had a unique ability. This ability caused the speed and power of any process she interacted with to increase. It was first discovered soon after she was born, the small growing flowers around her seemed to mature at a much faster rate. Her parents and many other adult dragons were ecstatic when they learned this and planned for her to be exalted, as they believed her ability would greatly benefit the Gladekeeper. This idea was soon as scraped as it came to be realized that her ability caused not only growth to be increased, but also destruction. Wilting plants wilted faster, if she visited sick friends their illness would get worse, and, in the worse case of all, a dying dragon died 7 days earlier than expected after she visited him. As the negative effects began to show she began to be called "Fester." This name over time replaced her real name as it was slowly lost to time.

Many dragons wished for Fester to leave the clan as while her powers had many positive effects they perceived the negatives as overpowering the positives. Originally some had wanted for her to be sent to another flight or to kicked out of the clan but they were worried the positive effects of her power would strengthen somewhere else and that she would hold a grudge again the Nature Flight or the clan, which would put them in extreme danger. Their wish of her absence became a reality when her desire to begin her Search started even before she was a full grown dragon. Her search would cause her to leave the clan, and hopefully Nature in the process, peacefully and even if the positive sides of her power grew she would use it entirely on her Charge. They happily let her begin her Search, constantly telling her it was alright that her desire developed early. And so she left the clan to find her Charge. At first, she simply wandered around the Viridian Labyrinth but when she never found her Charge she moved on to a different Flight. However, even in other Flights, she was unable to find it. In her desperation, she often thought she had found her Charge but it soon occurred to her it wasn't.

She wandered between flights for years, even sometimes wondering if her Charge wasn't even in Soreinth, but she tried her absolute hardest to never lose hope of finding it. At one point she barely escaped with her life after running into a rampant Imperial. The true belief she was cursed to never have a Charge began to settle in as she noticed large scars on her left shoulder and a broken left wing bone. These injuries would permanently affect her ability to fly, as they made it extremely painful to flight and preventing her from flying for a long time. She fell deeper and deeper into a depressive-like state as she stumbled into the Tangled Wood, her least explored Flight; broken, injured, and weary. As she slowly wandered the Woods she saw a bright silver and pearl Shadow Coatl collecting samples of his surrounding environment. The moment she saw him she knew he was to be her Charge. He noticed the Guardian staring at him and approached her. Noticing the injuries that covered her and her clear fatigue he happily fulfilled her request to go with him so he could heal her, let her rest, and learn more about her. As she healed and rested she begged to join the clan he was a part of; half lying and saying her Charge was very close to them. She was accepted and quickly became companions with Silverrus, her new found Charge. She gladly helped him with his work, answered his questions, and protected him from any harm whilst he gathered samples for his magic and experiments. It wasn't until she had been living in the clan for a while that she reveiled to him, and him alone, that he was her Charge.
