Shanty

While his siblings were counting change and chasing bees, he was learning knotwork, trap-making, chumming, and the basics of handling a dory in rough seas. While many from Dragonhome eschew the ocean for dry land, this dragon much prefers the rock of a boat beneath his feet and salt spray in the air. He sings shanties, and when he is close to shore, those who hear him remark that his voice is not half-bad. He seems to be mostly non-verbal, though it may merely be his choice not to speak much. He earned his name through his time serving on ships coming to and from the islands. Crewmates that know him well can often tell how he's feeling by which shanty he's singing, and he'll often hum shanties in response to questions asked, in a sort of response. Very few dragons have heard him actually speak, usually deciding to weigh-in on important matters in private to involved parties.

It was some time after beginning to sail with Dev that Miiri and Loex joined their crew. After some time, the two of them presented Shanty with the bone lyre he wears, and he often will join in with their singing, now providing gentle plucking as he grows more confident
