Shadows are not cruel and cold, no matter what anyone tells you. Kalira knew they could be, yes, but how they were used and perceived did not correlate with how they really were. They were neutral. She loved them.

She had been born of a wealthy family in the Wispwillow Grove, raised by the finest scholars and artists to follow in her parents footsteps as a dignified aristocrat. Their manor rose tall and sinister in the shadows, the glow of fungi lighting its long, empty halls. She was a sheltered only child, unaware of the plight of many of the other dragons across the lands. She learned dance and grace, how to sit for a portrait, and how to delight a room. She was vapid and vain.

One day, while preparing for a piano lesson, a dragon broke into her home and abducted her, holding her for ransom. In exchange for her life, he wanted her to be his mate. The Rogues of the Silver Moon were called in to rescue her- tough, grizzled plague dragons. Criminals for hire. Upon meeting them, Kalira decided to stay with them, rather than returning home, much to her parents' fury.

Kalira is a sweet dragon, naive to the ways of the world, but she is learning. She prefers to spend most of her time with whatever hatchlings are passing through at the time.

She wishes the rogues would be more refined such as herself, which angers the rogues, as if they were different they wouldn't have been able to rescue her, and besides, they like the way they are. She is trying to understand their way of life, but it flies in the face of everything she knows.
