ARKBOT was created to store large amounts of data and to keep a record of Center happenings. He is not sentient, though he does have a personality of sorts programmed into him.

Left unattended, ARKBOT normally wanders around until he finds something he judges to be important going on; he then watches and records it. He can take or delete recordings on demand, or via an external computer. ARKBOT has a very mild and courteous manner, thus often inducing the same in other dragons. He can learn from experience and carry on a decent conversation (with mostly appropriate vocal inflection).

And sing. Ruth (most likely) secretly added this feature after his completion. He seems to have been given the foundations of musical theory, as he composes pieces on his own- they're usually long, strange, wordless affairs, which he croons as he wanders from one place to another. Though this habit of his is somewhat unsettling for those unfamiliar with him, most of the Center's members regard it as just another aspect of life there.

ARKBOT was primarily a project of the legendary Wiztix, with assistance from Io and the lifebot PAIL. He is a true robot, with no biological components whatsoever.

ARKBOT is primarily called upon to watch and record important lab procedures and to store data, though he also keeps records of important documents and general events.

Most Center dragons treat ARKBOT with courtesy, with the exception of Bronwen. Some suspect that she's jealous of the bot team's great success without her input (she works on lifebots only).
