There is so much blood, he muses. It's almost funny at this point, his bright white feathers splattered with red, contrasting widely from the lovely forget-me-nots littered across the floor. Hana wheezes out a weak laugh, claws scrabbling at his throat. He should stop. He should really, really stop. He can feel the curling plant growing at his sternum, compressing against his lungs, like a morbidly beautiful parasitic reminder. He retches again.

He gets weaker and weaker, refusing to eat for days on end and coughs more blood and less solid vegetation. He's going to die, it'll be any day now. He grimaces as another painful spike claws its way up his throat. A few red-blue petals drift to the ground, the majority sticking stubbornly onto his sticky maw. Hanahaki is horribly distraught, but he's too far gone. A pitiful sob escapes him. Oh gods, I'm dying. I'm going to die alone.
• luckily (or unluckily?), he doesn't end up dying
• condition is still pretty bad though, probably needs more than a few cough drops for that
• says "I'm fine" a lot for someone who is obviously... not fine
• as poetic as this all sounds his name literally translates to flower barf
