Biography

WHITLOCK
|| Engineer ||

aUbsH7I.gif

Whitlock had always even interested in building. From a young age, he showed that he was capable of creations far beyond his years. He started out small, drawing intricate plans for huge sculptures and monuments, each drawing differing from the rest, each drawing special and unique down to the finishing touches. He enjoyed the brilliance of imagining something that did not exist, of picturing something so clearly in his mind that he swore it was real. As he grew, Whitlock only became more adept at this art and was able to picture every detail of his projects without needing a small scale drawing. However, this did not mean that he stopped drawing. Whitlock loved to sketch out his designs, to show each one to his clanmates, to watch their faces light up with joy as they traced over his design. There was something great about that power, the power of giving joy to others, knowing that it would be appreciated by them and that he was helping.

As a hatchling, Whitlock knew that he wanted to explore, to see all the wonders of architecture that Sornieth had to offer him and experience the hopes and dreams of aspiring architects before him. He figured that he could draw inspiration from the work of his predecessors and understand the complex designs that he saw all around him in a new way. The idea of leaving the Wind territory did not sit well with the Skydancer though, and after a while he came to realise that his true passion came in the beauty of his home Flight. He wanted to see what could be done with the meagre resources beside him, to revel in the thoughts and beliefs of dragons long past. He recalls standing at the edge of his birthclans territory, wings wavering in the ever - present breeze. He had felt a calling so strong in that moment, a felling of belonging and desire that practically vaulted him upwards, into the sky and on his way.

It didn't take him too long to find a clan, a clan requiring some serious designing alterations. From a quick glance, Whitlock picked out a fault in their lair layout, a crack in the perfect masonry of their Hoard. As he descended, the diagrams plotted in his head almost without the Skydancers urging. He was in his element. It took little time for him to become a member of th clan, to propose his role as Architect to his new clan mates and show them what he was capable of. He had been expecting a test of some kind, something that would prove his worthiness to the Matriarch of the clan. So when he was challenged with coming up for a new Hoard structure design, Whitlocks claws flew over the sketching sheet. He dashed through lines and erased, drawing and perfecting in each movement. There was a strange grace to his actions, a dance that seemed to have no rhythm yet perfect beat. Minutes later, he was done, holding the parchment high for his new clanmates to see; a design of his own creation, competing against those labelled masterpieces from long ago.
