They had told her not to go, that it was far too dangerous for a single dragon to go alone, that they were too aggressive for diplomatic negotiations.

Eclipse did not listen. Perhaps she did not care.

The young skydancer had always been outgoing and courageous, her bravery surprising everyone. She did not know fear, even if she had been hurt. She stood tall to protect her friends, even when young. She did not hesitate to put herself in danger to rescue others.

Many in Rotriver thought her overconfidence would prove fatal, that she would finally meet a challenge her abilities could not handle. They could not understand how a child believed that being born under a total solar eclipse made her far more powerful than her peers could imagine. They could not believe that such a common celestial occurrence could have side effects to those born in the shadow.

And who could blame them? Celestial events had never bestowed powers before, why would they do so now?

And so, when the Daughter of the Eclipse traveled to the raider's den, they thought of her as walking to her grave.

As she strode up the steps to the ruined temple that had become their stronghold, they thought her insane.

When she demanded the release of her friends and neighbors, the raiders laughed in her face.

To them, she was no more than a foolish Ice dragon. Overconfident in her magic, too prideful to admit she may be outmatched and outnumbered. They paid no mind to the cold glint of starlight in her eyes, or that the power she exuded was now restless.

When she repeated her demand, they mocked her openly. Some ignored her and returned to their activities, laughing off her building anger. The prisoners were still not free.

The Daughter was furious.

She was not to be mocked and ignored.

As she roared her final demand in rage, she unleashed a power still unknown to us. A total solar eclipse blotted out the sun, drowning the raider stronghold in darkness and crowning the Daughter of the Eclipse with its corona. As she stood in the grand entrance of the ruined temple with her cosmic magics swirling about her, with her true power revealed, the raiders felt true terror.

The raider chiefs begged for forgiveness, sending underlings to collect the prisoners that the Daughter had come to free. They offered her treasures and gems in an effort to appease her anger, to convince her to bring back the sun and let them be.

After all, they had never met a dragon who could summon an eclipse, nor had they met a dragon with the power of the cosmos at her clawtips.

And yet, the Daughter was both of these things.

But the Daughter had no need for treasures or trinkets, she had come only to rescue the prisoners. As she led the freed dragons out of the raider stronghold, the cosmic magics dissapated and shadow covering the sun began to disappear, bathing the former temple in light once more.

And so the band of dragons traveled towards home.

Upon reaching Rotriver Cavern and returning to their clans, the rescued dragons told tales of the dragoness made of stardust, who could call forth the power of the moon and sun to fight the evils that threatened her.

The Daughter did not know how to react to these stories, as she herself had not known of her powers. She decided to remain humble, as she had only wanted to free those who had been captured. Though she tried to downplay the story, her fame grew. She did not have cosmic magic, she insisted, it was just a fluke.

But the dragons knew what they had seen, they had sensed her otherworldly magics, and many who were close to her knew that she did not know how to use her powers.

And so her mother took her to the Mage's Guild in the hopes of finding someone who could teach her daughter to use and control her magic. They assigned her to the head mage of the Houndstooth Clan, who was well known for experimenting with odd magics. If anyone in the guild had encountered Cosmic or any similar magic, it would be Falion.

And so, the Daughter of the Eclipse moved into the Houndstooth Clan's lair to be with her mentor. Though they have not made much progress in unlocking the Daughter's magic, they still have not given up. After all, the stars do not surrender their secrets easily.
- She has agreed to shorten her name to "Eclipse," though her full name remains "Daughter of the Eclipse"
- She doesn't actually summon a moon to cover the sun, she just conjures up a disk of shadow. It takes a few minutes to appear and disappear (the minimum is 10 minutes, but it usually takes longer)
- Even as a hatchling, she was always a brave, bright person. In a difficult situation she always tried to remain positive and boost her friend's spirits. Eclipse is good at thinking on her toes, and is generally the first to come up with a plan of action. Though, that doesn't necessarily mean it's a good plan of action
- She has always called herself "Daughter of the Eclipse," even though her mother had given her a name. Eclipse had claimed the name belonged to another dragon, much to her parent's confusion.
- Her family often teased that she was made of starstuff or was a fallen comet in the shape of a dragon, as she looked like she had moonlight in her eyes and stardust in her feathers. However, as she got older Eclipse began to wonder if she was a misplaced celestial object, as she always felt different, as though she wasn't meant to be a dragon on Sornieth.
- Her family is aware that she feels different, and tries to support her as much as they know how. They don't always get it right, but they try and Eclipse greatly appreciates it.
- Falion's research into other dimensions has revealed that the solar eclipse the Daughter was born under may have created small rifts between various dimensions. He speculates that one of these rifts may have switched a normal skydancer egg with Eclipse's egg.
- Falion also speculates that Eclipse's "home dimension" may be the same as our dimension, except the magic is far more powerful than our own. Like, unbelievably more powerful than our own if Eclipse's cosmic magics are any indication.
