Biography
x Antumbra |
There was light and dark. What was day had turned to night, light to shadow. The natural flow of things had been twisted and the residents shrieked in alarm and celebration. The day of black sun had arrived. The delicate hatchling inside stretched and chirped its disapproval of the waning light, shattering the shell that had kept them confined. He opened his eyes to utter black, wide golden eyes searching for that slim ring of light that cast the world in shadow. He blinked royal purple eyes and whipped his head toward the sounds of celebration, as the scents and sounds of mourning around him became too much for him to bear. Coated in the slick and slimy remains of egg gunk he tottered off, away from familiar scents and sad sounds to be picked up by a large and sinuous shadow. It brought the newborn dragonet to the center of the celebration and as the moon left the sun so to did the golden light leave the hatchling's eyes until they were left a deep royal purple, a sliver of gold only visible under the light of the moon. |
His eyes were fully gold tonight. That meant the Gate was open and that Visitors could come through. Some were okay, usually, those poor unfortunate souls who had wandered too close to the Ruins of the Hewn City and got lured in by playful whisps and Wraiths; they called these Visitors the Aberro- lost ones. Others were obnoxious, blustering blundering idiots all pumped up on their own self-importance, believing every Lusus, Shade, and Spirit was a Monster to be slain; these Visitors were called the Morio-fools. The Aberro were lead back out and dropped off in the general vicinity of the Sundial Terrace or Wispwillow Grove. The Morio were lead to the Hollow; if they wanted a Monster to slay there certainly was no shortage to be found within the Hollow, though more likely than not they would end up as some lucky Lusus' bimonthly snack, if not they would have one hell of a story to tell when they got out. |
