Born during a very rare solar event, Eclipsim was destined to have powers far beyond what her parents had. Being born in Arcane, and when the moon eclipsed the sun, Eclipsim's egg was imbued with heavy Arcane energies. Once she hatched, however, the powers weren't apparent, at first. Eclipsim was raised powerless for most of her childhood, only watching her parents use their powers. She hoped that she'd have magical powers strong enough to be a strong Arcane mage, able to strike down even the largest of Emperors. But one night, as she turned into an adolescent, she had a glimpse of the future. Nothing concrete, but it showed her what she'd become. And she immediately didn't want what she saw. She was to be a seer--able to glimpse into the future, and predict outcomes. Eclipsim didn't want this. She'd seen her mother suffer from her visions. They would weaken her, and depress her. She didn't want to feel that sort of suffering. Unfortunately, the fates had other plans for her. Regretfully, she trained under her mother to be a seer, learning how to use her powers for good, and not push herself too hard, lest she become lost in a trance, seeing future events and being unable to turn away. It took years for her to get her powers under control, and even now she still has some trouble, depending on the event she sees. She still fears the suffering that comes with being a seer, but so far she's managed to avoid anything too harsh. ...Until it came time to view the death of her parents. She could do nothing about it. They passed away suddenly, being struck down by a gang of thieves that passed through. She knew where to hide, only because she saw it. She, and some of her siblings, were the only survivors. After that, Eclipsim took what she could carry, and started traveling. She couldn't live in the same clan where her parents were struck down. After helping bury them, Eclipsim left. She traveled far, stopping in various clans, towns, and cities to deliver fortunes and earn a small living. She was always on the go, never staying too long, lest she predict the downfall of the place she was in. Only one town she visited had a sour future, but thankfully the head of the town believed her words, and put up some safeguards to assure that it would never happen. And it didn't. The past can't be changed, but the future is always changing. It can be changed, depending on what happens in the present. She didn't meet up with Janto until later in her life. She came upon the Executrix Empire during her travels, and set up shop in the city. Just a temporary fix, until she felt it was time to move on.However, Janto quickly heard about her, and had her visit the palace. They had dinner, and Eclipsim told the Emperor of her powers, and how every future she's predicted so far has come true. Knowing her powers would be awful in the hands of the enemy, Janto proposed that she live in the palace, where she'd be safe. She'd be given whatever she wished, if she didn't leave the palace, nor the Empire. If she had to leave the palace, she had to be accompanied by guards. And she was, under no circumstances, to lay with anyone in bed. She had to be celibate. After a few nights of mulling it over, Eclipsim agreed. And so, began her life within the Empire. |

At first, palace life was hard. She didn't like not being able to leave, whenever she wished. And Eclipsim found the guards she was stuck with very stoic and hard to mess with. However, Janto did keep to his promise about giving her whatever she wished. Shopping was a thrill--she could buy whatever she wanted, from clothing to jewelry to food. And all she had to do, was go to Janto, whenever her predictions of the future turned sour for the Empire. A very easy job, and one of practically luxury. A small voice in her head occasionally tells her that staying here is a bad idea, but she shuts it up pretty quickly. She knows not to grow too lax, but when she has comforts like she does here, it's hard not to be a bit laid back. Eclipsim is a bit playful, loving to harmlessly flirt and tease with others. When she gets a rise out of someone, she loves it. She doesn't talk about herself hardly at all, and avoids personal questions. She keeps a veil over her eyes, leading some to believe that she's blind. But she can see perfectly well--the mesh in her veil allows her to see without problems. And she purposely walks slow, with her hands extended slightly at times, to give the impression of her being blind. With rumors like that, she has to play along somewhat to make it more fun. She especially loves teasing those who are normally calm and collected. Getting reactions out of them is always worth it. Despite her strong powers, however, Eclipsim cannot predict her own future. It was something her mother couldn't do, either. She can predict the future of everyone else, and of any clan or whatever...but she cannot determine her own future. Which scares her to some degree, but she keeps that hidden. She doesn't want it known that she fears her own death. She's a seer to Emperor Janto. She's not afraid of anything. ...Or so she says. |
