B I O G R A P H Y
Elio was hatched during The Day of the Black Sky, when the Moon eclipsed the Sun for a time. Many in Praesta, especially religious leaders, took this as an ill omen and were unsettled by his pitch scales and red eyes. His parents were kind and loving to the shy hatchling all the same.
When he had almost reached adulthood, nearly old enough to stretch his black velvet wings and fly, a stranger appeared at Praesta's gates and turned his life into chaos. Dimas, full of pride and ambition, had begun his rise to power with the help of the Shade itself. The ruthless future ruler desired to create an Emperor-and for that, he needed Imperial corpses. His father silently disappeared one night, never to be seen again...until Elio narrowly escaped the monsterous Emperor that suddenly besieged the city, his father's ruined and rotting maw one among many attached to the terrible beast.
Ater Dimas subdued the creature, nobody suspected that he was the one to create it. In fact, Elio practically worshipped the new Monarch like most of Praesta. But the illusion didn't hold for long. Elio, morbidly curious about his father's fate, began to investigate his murder despite Dimas's attempt to hide the crime. He tried to tell the guards and even the Empress herself what Dimas had done, but while some believed most did not. After all, no one had found sufficient evidence to prove such a claim. So he took justice into his own claws, delving into dark research of the Shade that took Dimas, hoping to use it against him. He began to become obsessed with destroying Dimas, the Shade slowly taking over his mind. Horrified at what he was being twisted into, Elio contacted the Healers for help. Now the Imperial's mind is his own, though he still has bad days... He currently acts as the Healer's lead Shade Expert and is being taught the surgeon's trade.
